Gel Press Snowflake Card

Happy Monday Stampers ~ I created my Gel Press Snowflake Card by playing with a new toy!

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  I had a mixed busy and relaxing weekend.  Friday was busy and I had a lot to do.  Saturday was a little more laid back.  Yesterday was pretty hectic.  I went to Jess’ town house to see it as they are moving right along on it.  Her hardwood floors and carpet is in.  Her kitchen cabinets are in along with her sink – which it big and deep – and her stove.  Her refrigerator is not in yet.  She is curious to see what it will look like.  She is excited to see the final look and to move in!

Today is the challenge at Make My Monday .   This time our challenge is

    SNOW FUN

I was at a stamping class Friday evening and we played with a new toy that I have had.  I saw on several you tube videos I watched they were doing all kinds of things for background using a gel press.   I ordered one as I loved the look but I had not had the opportunity to play with it.  At the stamping party there was a demonstration of a way to use the gel press.  I decided I would give it a try for my card today.

I wanted a background with snowflakes on it so I stamped my snowflakes with Versamark and embossed them with White embossing powder.  Next I inked up my gel press using Dapper Denim, Pool Party, and Soft Sky.  Then using my brayer I spread the ink around and blended it.  Taking my piece of embossed Whisper White card stock I set it on top of the gel press and placed a scrap paper over top and pressed down all over to transfer the ink to the card stock.  I removed the scrap paper and card stock and set aside to dry.  While the card stock was drying, I used some Dazzling Diamonds and the Seasonal Layers thinlits and cut out my snowflakes.  Using the Multipurpose Liquid Glue I added dots to the back of the snowflakes and set aside to dry.  The silver ribbon was added to the bottom of the inked panel the the panel was attached to the Dapper Denim card base.  A bow was tied using the ribbon and added to the ribbon with glue dots.  To finish the card the die cut snowflakes were added to the card.  Here is my completed  Gel Press Snowflakes Card.
