Simple Embossed Handmade Card

Time To Remember on this Memorial Day!

Hello Everyone ~ I have a Simple Embossed Handmade Card on the blog today.

Memorial Day is the day we remember all the service men who gave their lives so that we can be free.  The families of these men give up so much.  Today is a day we can thank them for the service they have given our country.  Make sure you take some time today to remember all the men who are buried in Arlington Cemetery as well as others around the country.

I had hoped to spend some time reading yesterday but I accomplished a lot and time ran out.  I managed to send out my newsletter (totally forgot on Saturday).  This one talked about organization and some items you can use to organize your craft supplies.  If you do not want to miss any of my upcoming newsletters make sure you sign up using the form on the right.  I also changed my bed linens, made 3 videos, and Barb and Doug came over to hang my Home letters.  I had pinned this idea that I wanted to do and Barb gave it to me when I moved in.  I love it!  Here is the photo.

I have a new class coming out in June.  This class uses the Pop of Petals and coordinating punch.  This is a great set and so many things you can do with it.  I will be sharing cards several times this week so you have lots of ideas to go with the class.  Here is one sneak peak for you.

For today’s card I saw a clean and simple card and wanted to create my version using Stampin’ Up supplies.  I began with the Pop of Petals stamp set and stamped them with Versamark and heat embossed using white embossing powder.  I then watercolored them using Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, and Melon Mambo.  When they were dry I punched them out with the coordinating punch.  My card base is Whisper White and I embossed the front using the Polka Dot Basics embossing folder.  To create my flowers, I took the one I had colored Granny Apple Green and cut it in half.  This would be used for the leaves of the flowers.  I added the flowers and the leaves in the lower left hand corner using glue dots and dimensionals.  The sentiment came from Perennial Birthday and it was stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black.  The ends were flagged and then the strip was added to the card base using dimensionals.  Here is the completed Simple Embossed Handmade Card.
