Playing with Punches

Good Monday Morning to you!

The challenge at Late Night Stampers  this week is a fall theme.  I have seen all kinds of pumpkins made out of punches.  The ones I had liked used the wide oval punch which I don’t have.  I saw a video made by Gwen Mangelson’s husband (great video so check it out) where he used other punches besides the wide oval so I decided to give it a try.

The sketch challenge at Stamping 411 was my inspiration for making the pumpkins.

I thought it would be fun to have the pumpkin be the large oval shape.

I made 2 punched pumpkins.  The first used the large oval.  While it turned out okay, I wanted a fat pumpkin so I decided to try to make one using the 1 3/4″ circle punch.  I love how it turned out so I decided to use that one on the outside and the oval one on the inside.  When it was done I thought it would be fun to use the Scribble Swirls sizzlet to create vines on the side of the pumpkin.  I also used the Little Leaves sizzlet to make the leaf and stem at the top of both pumpkins.  I cut the one leaf to be the stem and used Chocolate Chip marker to color it.  I like the way this card turned out so I think I will use it in my workshop next month.  Here is my creation.

I highly recommend you watch the video.  You will learn some great tips to create all kinds of pumpkins.  Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!
