Hand Stamped Sentiments – Fireworks

Hello Stampers!

I had a great day yesterday.  We went for a walk in the morning. Then we went to the pool for a few hours.  After that we spent the day at the house. I worked on my knitting and actually finished a shawl I had brought with me.  I had started the shawl about a year ago. I am working on finishing some projects I have on my needles.

Today is the last day of the 30 day coloring challenge.

For my last coloring challenge I decided to use the blown ink technique.  I used the inspiration challenge for my coloring challenge today.

For the challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments we have an inspiration challenge.

When I think of the 4th of July I think of fireworks.  I decided to see if I could use the blown ink technique to create fireworks. I used the shimmery card stock and added one drop of ink and worked it before adding the next drop.  I did find I got a better effect if I blew straight down on the drop and
blew real hard.  Here is my completed project.

  1. I LOVE it! I've never tried this technique, but how fun it is as a fireworks display! I'm sure it's so shimmery in person. Hope you enjoy your holiday! ~erika

  2. I love this!!! The splatters look just like fireworks and the added sparkly bling is perfect! I'm going to have to do a project like this with my kids!

  3. So happy that the weather cooperated at least for your first day and that you finished a project and are moving on to more of them! Your card is fabulous….love 4th of July and decorations – got most of mine up this last Sunday and makes me smile to see them! Hope the rest of your week goes as smoothly and that you continue to have a wonderful visit!

  4. Robbie, Wow! Thanks for describing the blown ink technique. I had not seen it before and perfect for your fireworks. I also love how you used the vellum with your sentiment. So many fabulous elements like the star decoration and your so good about always finishing inside and creating an envelope. I LOVE it! 🙂
