Colorful Paisleys

Hello Everyone ~ I played with this stamp set and some different colors to create some Colorful Paisleys!

Well I managed to get into my room yesterday for a bit and did cross a few more items off my To Do list.  I have back to back workshops today so not sure if I will have time to get to anything.  I am hoping I can at least plan some cards so that when I get time I only have to stamp them.

Today we have a color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments

I have to admit I was not thrilled with the Real Red in there.  I was not certain how I was going to use it.  Then I remembered my Candy Cane Lane Washi Tape and knew the polka dots would be perfect!  I mean who does not like paisley and polka dots!  Since I knew this was going to be a challenge color combo I decided to use a sketch challenge for it.  I found the perfect one at Pals Paper Arts

I began by stamping several images from the Paisleys & Posies set using the Bermuda Bay and Pool Party.  Then I decided to bite the bullet and add some Real Red images.  When I was finished it did not look half bad.  I added a strip of the washi tape and attached my layer to my card base.  I then needed to address the horizontal strip.  I decided to make that my sentiment strip.  I used a sentiment from the stamp set as these colors were just perfect for the uplifting sentiment.  It seemed to lack some pizzazz so I added some bling by putting rhinestones in the center of the red flowers.  It still did not seem finished to me so I pulled out my silver foil and my framelit and cut out 2 of the flower shapes.  I added them to my card and now it was complete.  Here is my completed creation!

I hope you will head over to the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog to see what the other ladies on the design team created.  I am sure you find lots of different ideas.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Wish me luck that I am still standing at the end of the day with all I have to get done today.  Have a Terrific Tuesday and if you don’t have this set you need to order it so you can create your own Colorful Paisleys!

  2. Robbie, I love how you created the background with the paisleys. Such a pretty card and I love the rhinestones and the silver foil flowers. Great job with the color challenge.
