Paisley Christmas

Another quick post today as we are traveling back home.

I used the color challenge at  Picture Perfect Creations

and the sketch challenge at  Hand Stamped Sentiments

I chose the top sketch.  I stamped my center tree with Artichoke and then made a mask.  I inked up the tree with Celery and then used the Razzleberry pad to rock and roll the edges.  I stamped this on one side and then cleaned the stamp and repeated for the other side.  I then layered this onto the 3 colors of cardstock.

Then I inked the leaf with Celery and rolled the edges with either Artichoke or Razzleberry.  I also used the edge of the pad to add some color in various spots on the leaf.  I stamped this on my background and repeated until I had the whole area covered.  I then started adding my layers.

See my ribbon and the cool way it is applied.  That was an idea I saw on Kimberly Van Diepen’s blog Stampin’ by the Sea.  Basically you apply a strip of sticky tape and then stick one end of your ribbon to the sticky strip at a diagonal (if you look at my card you can see the tail of my ribbon is down and it goes up across the sticky strip).  Then you take the ribbon and fold it down across the sticky strip so the ribbon forms an upside down V.  Then fold your ribbon up across the sticky strip (this will give you a V).  You repeat this procedure until you have covered all your sticky strip with ribbon.  Kimberly has a great tutorial if you are a visual person like me.  Here is my creation.

Hope you liked my card.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!
