The Paper Plunge – Wetlands Birthday

Happy Friday Everyone!

Well I made a huge mistake yesterday.  I made my card before I went to the yarn store.  I was sitting there knitting away when I realized tomorrow is The Paper Plunge challenge.  Needless to say I came home and quickly checked out our challenge and made another card.  Then in my haste to make my card I totally forgot to take a picture of my coloring for today.

Since I had to make a card very quickly, I tried to think of something I could do fairly quickly.  I decided to do some coloring on my acrylic block.  I took my block and colored Crumb Cake on the bottom.  Then I colored some Marina Mist.  The next layer up was Pool Party.  I finished it up with a loose layer of So Saffron.  When I spritzed it with water and let it dry I did not like the look.  So I pulled out my block and markers and added more Crumb Cake and Marina Mist.  Here is what the finished piece – minus the birds – looked like.

Our Challenge this week at The Paper Plunge is Manly Man.  We were to create a masculine card.  I love the Wetlands set for masculine cards.  Since I had a request for some birthday card, I decided to make a masculine birthday card.   Here is what my final creation looked like.

I have several ladies coming today for my One Sheet Wonder Note Cards class.  It will be fun to play with them.  I also need to get my Paper Pumpkin put together with my alternative ideas so we can meet for that one.

Thanks for visiting me today.  We have Zoie’s dance recital on Saturday.  I am sure it will be a fun day.  Have a Fabulous Friday!
