Hello Stampers!
Well we had a great weekend at the knitting retreat. We had to come back early yesterday for an emergency but all in all it was fun! I enjoyed visiting the yarn distributor and hearing how he chooses the yarn, the colors, and the patterns to knit with it. I did buy some yarn so I can make a poncho and a shawl. We also had some fabulous food! How did you spend your weekend?
Today I have a shaker card for you using some supplies from Laura’s Loft. I love shaker cards! They are
so fun to make and so easy with supplies like the shaker overlays and

I began with the rectangle overlay and applied some Scattered Straw ink using a make up sponge to the upper portion of the rectangle. Then I applied some Cracked Pistachio ink to the lower portion of the rectangle using the same method. Then I a piece of white card stock and using Salty Ocean and the same method as before I created a background.
To make my shaker card, I took a piece of fun foam and cut it the size of the rectangle. I then traced the rectangle cut out and used my exacto knife and cut out the rectangle I traced on the fun foam. I used adhesive to attach the fun foam to the back of the shaker overlay. I then added some of the Warm & Cozy sequins. I added some adhesive to the shaker frame and attached it too the white card stock. I then attached the shaker to a green card stock base. My shaker was complete.
Now I need to make my flowers. Using the same method as above, I applied the Scattered Straw in a small area. I then applied Abandoned Coral around the Scattered Straw. Finally I applied Festive Berries around the Abandoned Coral. I made sure I blended each layer. I then took my stamp from Avery Elle’s Peonies and inked it up with black and stamped it onto the above layers. Since the stamp is a photopolymer stamp it was easy to see where I wanted to stamp it to get the best colors.
Now I need to make my leaves. I began with Cracked Pistachio ink and did a strip. I then took Mowed Lawn ink and blended it around the Cracked Pistachio. I stamped my leaf again strategically to take advantage of the colors. After I cut out my flowers and leaves I attached them to my card. Here is my final creation.
