Stampin’ Up Dies Card Idea

Good Morning Everyone ~ Ready to see a Stampin’ Up Dies Card Idea?

I spent some time yesterday working on my samples for my Facebook Live tonight.  I used the Butterfly Sale-a-bration paper and Butterfly Gala stamp set.  Tonight I am using the Come Sail Away suite to make some masculine cards.  I hope you will join us at Creations in Paper to see what I create and to learn another way to cut your 6 x 6 designer series paper.  The fun begins at 7:30 pm EST.  During the day I will be swiffering the house and cleaning up from my workshop.  I cleaned my stamps after the workshop but I need to put the stamps away along with the supplies we used.  I also need to spend some time getting my Designer Series Paper share ready to publish.  I will be publishing the In Color Club post later today.  Look for it to get all the details!  This is a great way to get all the products for the In Colors so you can create with a different color each month.

Today I have one of the last cards I created before I left Maryland.  These cards have been so helpful for me and I may need to take a week and do the same thing with my sets that are in the upcoming 2019 – 2020 Annual Catalog.  Today’s card uses the Vertical Greetings stamp set along with the Eclectic Layers and Sunshine Wishes thinlits.  I began with a Whisper White panel and using the repeating diamond pattern thinlit I cut out the shape at an angle.  Real Red ink was used to ink up the sentiment from Vertical Greetings and then stamped it down the right hand side of the panel.   I had some of the 1/8″ Real Red ribbon that I used down the left hand side of the panel.  This panel was attached to a Real Red card base.  The heart came from the Sunshine Wishes thinlits.  To finish of the Stampin’ Up Dies Card Idea creation I added a bow to the ribbon.  Here is the completed card.

This would make a great anniversary card. It is a quick and easy card as you use thinlits. Click the photo to get the details from my Stampin' Up Dies Card Idea.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  I have been watering my lawn and bushes as it has been so dry here.  I discovered a tiny pinhole in my hose so I will need to get another one today.  It never ends lately.  Still have gas smell also.  Have a Great Day and what did you think of my Stampin’ Up Dies Card Idea?

Monochromatic Handmade Card

Hello Everyone ~ Today’s Monochromatic Handmade Card was a real challenge because of the color.

Yesterday was rather interesting.  I have been having issues with the smell of gas when I use my hot water.  Yesterday I smelled it again and the contractor who installed the lines said the next time to call the gas company.  So I called them and they told me to leave the house and they were sending someone right away.  Now I had a lady coming in about 40 minutes for a card class.  I went outside and waited and the gas guy finally came.  He checked the house and said it was ok for us to go in.  I went ahead with my workshop while he checked around.  He worked for a while and I went ahead with my card class.  He finally came to me and told me he was detecting a leak and was going to turn off the gas and all this other stuff.  As luck would have it the foreman for my builder was here working on the punch list.  He had run to the store so I sent him a text and told him the gas man wanted to talk to him.  He came back and the gas man, the foreman, and the contractor did a 3 way call so the gas man could tell the contractor what he had eliminated.  The contractor then spend the afternoon working on determining where the leak was.  He managed to find the leak and fix it so when the gas man came back he could not detect any gas leak.  The contractor had some more work to do but he will be back in the morning early as it was too hot in the attic.  I am hoping they have solved the problem.  Then while I was talking to one of the ladies who came to my workshop about where to plant my daisies I got for Mother’s Day we discovered the deer have been eating my plants.  I was not happy about that so now I am working on using a natural deer repellent.  The lady said she has been using egg shells so I had some and I crushed them up and will put them out to see if that works.  I also talked to another lady who said she was using a spray that smelled like peppermint.  I have mixed up some water and peppermint essential oil that I will spray and see if that works.  I am hoping it does.

Today I have a One Color Wonder for you.  This one I have to admit was a challenge and was not certain what I was going to do because Pumpkin Pie does not go with any of the animals in the stamp set.  I think I did pretty good considering what I had to work with.  Here is my video for the Monochromatic Handmade Card.

Simple Stamping Hello

Hello Everyone ~ I have an adorable Simple Stamping Hello creation to share with you today!

I managed to get my catalog spiral bound yesterday.  There is a small Copy & Print shop here that Barb told me about.  I went over and they did a spiral binding with a plastic cover and backing for $2.50.  I could not believe it was so much cheaper than what I have paid in the past in Maryland.  Now it is time to highlight what I have and post-it note what I am thinking of ordering.  I know I will get the new daisy set and coordinating punch.  I already have the Sailing Away bundle.  In fact I am using the Sailing Away bundle and doing a different 6 x 6 One Sheet Wonder on Thursday evening in my Facebook Live.  If you need some ideas for Father’s Day cards set your reminder and join us at Creations in Paper.  We would love to have you join us!  Be on the look out for my In Color club post and a new Designer Series Paper share.  I am working on the posts and should have them up by the end of the week.  With the new catalog coming out, you will want to get the samples as soon as possible!

Today is the Hand Stamped Sentiments Blog Challenge.  Today’s challenge is a color challenge.

Aren’t these colors gorgeous together?  I had to spend a little time thinking about how I was going to use them before I started creating.  I opted for a clean and simple card today to give you some inspiration for some simple stamping.  I began with a Whisper White Card base.  I also cut a Stitched Rectangle shape.  The shape was a little taller than I wanted so I cut out the first rectangle then using the same thinlit, I shifted the paper up so that some of the cut shape was above the thinlit.  I made sure the stitching lined up by placing the piercing holes in the holes on the shape.  You can do this by getting the shape close to the size you want and then slowly shifting the thinlit down.  When the holes and piercing holes line up the framelit locks into place.  Once it was locked into place, I cut the framelit again which cut off the extra at the top and the stitching pattern continued all the way around.  I needed my rectangle to help me determine where to stamp my circles.  Using the circles from You’re Inspiring and Coastal Cabana ink I stamped them where the upper left hand corner and lower right hand corner of the rectangle were ~ use your rectangle for placement.  After those circles were stamped I added some circles using the Daisy Delight stamp set using a second generation stamping of both Gorgeous Grape and Melon Mambo.  Now that my card base was ready it was time to stamp my rectangle.  Using the Stitched Rectangle and the Coastal Cabana, Gorgeous Grape, and Melon Mambo marker I colored the image.  I then stamped it in the lower left hand corner of the rectangle.  I added the sentiment using Coastal Cabana ink.  The rectangle was added to the card front using dimensionals.  A strip of 4 clear rhinestones were added under the sentiment to finish off the card.  Here is the completed Simple Stamping Hello creation.

When Pigs Fly Piggy Card

Happy Monday stampers ~ Today’s creation is the cutest When Pigs Fly Piggy Card!

Well yesterday 2 other ladies and myself went to lunch and then to see Mama Mia.  This was put on by the local theater group.  They have had some great shows and today’s was no exception.  The cast did a fabulous job with the songs.  The theater had an issue with their air conditioning so it was pretty hot in there.  You would never know from the performance we received.  We thoroughly enjoyed it.  This by far was my favorite performance we have seen.

Today’s card was one I wanted to try when I saw that flying pig in the This Little Piggy stamp set.  I wanted to have him flying in the sky so I used my cloud Pattern Party decorative mask and some Balmy Blue ink to create a background of clouds.  A strip of the Silver metallic edge ribbon was added at the bottom.  This panel was attached to my Balmy Blue card base.  I stamped the flying pig using Powder Pink and colored his feet with a Crumb Cake marker.  Since there are not matching framelits I fussy cut him out.  I can’t wait to get my studio set up so I can use my Silhouette to cut out the images that I do not have framelits for!  This adorable pig was added to the card front using dimensionals.  Silver Glimmer paper and the Pretty Label punch was used to punch out the shape.  The sentiment ~ which by the way is perfect for this image ~ was stamped onto a scrap of Whisper White using Balmy Blue ink.  I used the Pretty Label punch to punch out the sentiment to get the same shape but smaller.  To do this I put the sentiment into the punch and had the left hand side close to the stamped sentiment.  When you punch it your sentiment will be off center but then you reinsert the image from the top and have the sentiment close to the right hand side.  After you punch it you may have to trim up some of the scallops so they are clean but you end up with a smaller shape than the punch.  I added my sentiment to the Silver Glimmer paper using glue dots.  The layered sentiment piece was then attached to the card front on top of the ribbon using dimensionals.  Here is my completed When Pigs Fly Piggy Card.

When I saw this image in the This Little Piggy set I knew I had to create this card. This sentiment is perfect for my When Pigs Fly Piggy Card.
