Hello Fall Handmade Card

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Hello Stampers ~ my Hello Fall Handmade Card uses some great colors for the leaves.

Are you ready for the big Turkey day today?  We will have a late dinner as Zoie and Remi are up to their other grandparents.  Jess will go get them later today and we will have our dinner when they get here.  That is fine with me as that lets me sleep in and take my time fixing the dinner.  We are not having turkey.  We are having Stuffed Ham (a St. Mary’s County traditional food), baked chicken, stuffing, mashed potatoes, and veggies.  We will have cheesecake for dessert.  With only the 5 of us (my sister will join us) we cannot find a small turkey so we opted for another meat entre.  This way we do not have a ton of leftovers.

Today my card began with 2 challenges.  I really liked the color challenge at Just Us Girls

These colors just screamed Fall to me.  I have added blue to my fall leaves lately and I am really liking the look.  I also saw a sketch challenge at Try Stampin’ On Tuesday  that I wanted to use.

So I began with the oval element and opted for Fall leaves for that element.  I sponged my color onto Very Vanilla card stock.  The leaf from the Colorful Seasons bundle was stamped with Versamark and then heat embossed using gold embossing powder.  The coordinating framelit was use to cut them out.  I used the Painted Autumn dsp was cut for the top and bottom with top being smaller than the bottom.  This was attached to the Very Vanilla card base using Snail.  Skinny strips of gold glimmer paper were cut and added next to the dsp using Tear & Tape.  The leaves were added to the upper left hand corner using glue dots and dimensionals.  I added a sentiment using the Tabs for Everything stamp set.  It was punched out using the 3/4″ circle punch.  After mounting it onto a 1″ circle of Early Espresso I added it to the card base with a dimensional.  Here is my completed Hello Fall Handmade Card.

Monochromatic Card featuring Awesomely Artistic from Stampin’ Up

Good Morning Everyone ~ One Color Wonder day means a cute Monochromatic Card featuring Awesomely Artistic from Stampin’ Up.

I managed to get a few things done yesterday.  I had to cut for my workshop and then I had my workshop.  After that I made my video for today’s post.  I know I am behind as I usually get my videos done several days before they are to be posted.  I also worked on a class to post.  I am still unpacking from the weekend.  I took a lot of stuff with me so I need to get it put away.

Today I will be working on cards to post this week and my Scrapbook class that is Sunday.  I have my ideas just need to make it.  If I finish the scrapbook pages I will start to work on my collage class.  Lots of work for today.

Wednesday means One Color Wonder creations.  This week I used Awesomely Artistic and Marina Mist.  I messed up my colors and was supposed to use Wisteria Wonder so I will be using that next week.  Here is my video.

Snowflake Sentiments and Merry Little Christmas

Hello Everyone ~ today I have a Snowflake Sentiments and Merry Little Christmas creation for you.

My plans for yesterday got changed.  I had one appointment in the morning and they called about another appointment  and asked if I could switch to the afternoon rather than today.  I went ahead and switched so now I have the day to work on preparing for my workshop and making my video for tomorrow.  The afternoon I have a workshop and then I will make some cards for the rest of the week.  I also have to work on my scrapbook pages for my class on Sunday.  It will be a busy few days for me.

For my card today I went looking for a sketch.  Since I was limited time, I knew I need to get it done quickly.  A sketch is the perfect way to do that.  I found this sketch at Match the Sketch Weekly Challenges for You.

I thought the circles could be snowflakes and then remembered the snowflake paper in Merry Little Christmas dsp.  I began with a Soft Sky card base.  I added a piece of the snowflake paper from Merry Little Christmas dsp.  To have the horizontal element I took a piece of Soft Sky card stock and embossed it with the Winter Wonder embossing folder.  This was mounted onto a piece of Basic Black card stock then added to the card base.  I chose the sentiment and stamped it in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and punched it out with a 1 3/4″ circle punch. Using a 2″ circle punch and Basic Black card stock I punched out a circle and mounted the sentiment on top. The sentiment was added to the card base in the lower left hand part of the card.  I used the Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper to cut out the snowflakes from the Seasonal Layers thinlits.  Dots of glue were added to the back of the snowflakes and set aside to dry.  Once they were dry, I added them to the card base.  Here is my Snowflake Sentiments and Merry Little Christmas interpretation of the sketch.

Stampin’ Up Fancy Fold Handmade Card

Hello Everyone ~ How about a Stampin’ Up Fancy Fold Handmade Card today?
Well I had a great weekend! I was able to get several mini album pages designed. I also finished half of the special project for Jess and the girls completed. I ran out of black card stock so I had to stop. I will be ordering more of that this week. As promised, here are some pictures from the weekend.

We began with lunch on Friday which I forgot to take a picture of.  We had salad, fish tacos, chili, mexican rice, and apple chirros.

Dinner and dessert on Friday ~ salad, garlic and lemon shrimp, spaghetti, broccoli with cheese, garlic toast, cheery pie and ice cream.

Breakfast Saturday ~ yogurt with blueberries and almond slivers, watermelon, scrambled eggs and bacon, and hash browns.

Lunch on Saturday ~ salad, grilled ham and cheese sandwiches, french fries, pumpkin soup, and warm chocolate chip cookies.

Dinner and dessert on Saturday ~ salad, risoto, lemon string beans, flank steak, crab cake, and strawberry shortcake

For some reason my photos from today did not take. For breakfast we had yogurt with blueberries and granola, omelits, sausage, and homemade bisquit. Lunch was salad, hamburger sliders, chili, pasta salad, and sweet potato pie. So as you can see we ate well. We had a personal chef all weekend so we did not have to fix any meals or do any cleaning up. Well worth the money to be able to relax and enjoy our time!

This week Stampin’ Up starts their week long Online Extravaganza. Their first incredible offering will be the 24-hour stamp sale. Ok, on to my card.  I saw a fancy fold card on one of my Stampin’ Up forums.  I liked it but decided to modify it.  The one I saw had vellum over the cut outs and a battery tea light behind it.  I opted for no vellum and to hang some daisies in the cut out.  You begin with a regular fold card base and add another piece of card stock on the inside to form the box.  I created my box and when I knew it would work, I then used the layering squares to cut out my openings.  The daisies were created with a piece of fishing wire sandwiched between the front and back daisy.  This fishing wired was hung from the back of the top panel so the flower swings freely.  Then all I had to do was add my dsp panels.  To show the versatility of the Labels to Love stamp set and coordinating punch which is used on my monthly Creations of the Month you can find here I used them with another stamp set for the sentiment.  Here is the outside of the Stampin’ Up Fancy Fold Handmade card.

Here is the inside of the card so you can see the fancy fold with the daisy hanging freely.
