Stampin’ Up Dragonfly Dreams

Happy Monday Everyone ~ Wait until you see my Stampin’ Up Dragonfly Dreams creation.

I finished the garage yesterday morning.  I wanted to get it done before it got too hot so I got up and got it organized.  It is ready for the movers.  I also finished up another Catalog Journey stamp set.  That leaves me with one set.  I will do that today as then I need to pack the craft room.  In fact I have to finish all the packing today and tomorrow as the movers will be here on Wednesday.  I don’t have a ton to do but enough for the 2 days.  I also have some donations to get out today.  I will do one trip after I drop the girls at day care.  My goal is to get the stamp set completed this morning so I will be busy today.  I am hoping to only have a few hours left for Tuesday.  Check back tomorrow to see what my progress was from today.

Today’s creation uses the next stamp set on my Catalog Journey.  I had the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.  There are some great images in this stamp set.  I used the dragonfly and paired it with the Garden Impressions designer series paper.  I did some research to find a dragonfly that I liked.  I chose one that had black wings and a blue body.  I colored the dragonfly using markers and then stamped it onto a scrap of Whisper White.  To add the sparkle to the wings that you see on dragonflies the Wink of Stella was used.  The matching framelit was used to cut out the dragonfly.  I used the Layered Leaves embossing folder to emboss a Whisper White panel.  This was attached to a Pacific Point card base.  Two coordinating pieces of Garden Impressions designer series paper to use for the card.  One piece was attached vertically and the other piece was going to be attached horizontally.  Using a 1 1/2″ and 2″ circle punch and a scrap of Pacific Point card stock a circle frame was created.  A piece of the mini silver sequin trim was tied to the circle frame using Basic Black Baker’s twine.  The horizontal designer series paper was threaded through the circle frame and then attached to the card base.  The dragonfly was attached to the card base using dimensionals.  Here is the completed Stampin’ Up Dragonfly Dreams creation.

Stampin’ Up Daisy Delight on Crumb Cake

Hello Ladies ~ I have an elegant Stampin’ Up Daisy Delight on Crumb Cake creation for you today.

Well I was a busy girl yesterday.  I got the girls straight to go with my sister to the water park.  Then I met a friend for lunch.  When I got home, I worked on another card in my list for my Catalog Journey.  I have 2 sets left!  I am going to try and do one today.  After I got the cards made I started packing a bunch of stuff.  Then I went out to the garage and got it cleaned.  This morning before it gets too hot I am going to  go back in the garage and get the piles organized.  Then I will be able to put my car back in the garage.  This afternoon there is a craft play date at a friends I am going to since this will be my last one with this group of ladies.  Then I get the girls back tonight so I can take them to day care in the morning.  I am down to only a few days before the movers get here so I have to get the last of the packing completed.  That will be my goal for Monday as well as make some deliveries of donations.

I have another 10 Minute Creation video for you today.  This week I played with the Daisy Delight stamp set.  Here is my video showing you how I created the Stampin’ Up Daisy Delight on Crumb Cake.

So you can check out all the details, here is the photo of the creation.

Stampin’ Up Beautiful Day Butterfly

Hello Ladies ~ I have a Pool Party Stampin’ Up Beautiful Day Butterfly for you today.

Well the septic lid has been replaced!  That means the only thing left is the crawl space.  That is supposed to be completed on Monday.  The had it scheduled for the other day but fell behind.  They have me rescheduled for Monday.  We are getting down to the wire as they don’t have much time before closing.  All work has to be done while I am here so it will be interesting to see if they show up on Monday or push it back again.  I hope they get it done on Monday as time is running out.  The movers are scheduled to be here on Wednesday.  I will then clean the house and I have to sign my papers on Thursday.  I can’t believe it is finally here.  It seems like it has taken so long.  After next week I will be able to relax a little and take it easy.

I decided to play with the butterfly in Beautiful Bouquet.  I stamped it with Memento Tuxedo black ink.  I then used alcohol markers to color it in.  I started taking a Copic marker class several months ago and had to put it on hold when I put the house on the market.  I tried to use some of what I learned in the class to color the butterfly.  I am hoping to get back to that class and my Prismacolor pencil class also.  I am thinking once I get in North Carolina and finalize all the plans for the house I will have some time to be able to do both.  After I had the butterfly colored, I cut the paper down and mounted it onto a piece of Pool Party card stock.  I used a panel of Whisper White and embossed it with the Softly Falling embossing folder.  Some of the Pool Party shimmer ribbon was added to the side and the butterfly panel was added using dimensionals.  This panel was mounted onto a Pool Party card base using Tear& Tape.  To finish off my Stampin’ Up Beautiful Day Butterfly a bow was added.  Here is the completed creation.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  I am meeting one of my best friends for lunch today.  Once I move to North Carolina I don’t know when I will see her again.  We have tried to meet up once a month for a while now.  I am sure I will see her when I come back for a visit!  Have a Super Saturday and what other color should I do the Stampin’ Up Beautiful Day Butterfly in?

Stampin’ Up Z-Fold Card

Happy Friday Ladies ~ Are you ready for a fun Stampin’ Up Z-Fold Card?

Well I finished the weeding last night.  I went out after dinner when it was a little cooler.  The only job that is outside now is the garage.  I will try and do that this weekend when I don’t have the girls.  I also cleaned out and packed up the laundry room and a little more of my craft room.  I also managed to make one of my design team commitment cards and made the cards for another stamp set for my Catalog Journey.  I also had a make up class.  I was a busy lady yesterday.

Friday means it is time for another Fabulous Friday video!  This is a series modeled after the Tasty Videos you see on Facebook.  I show you how to make a card by speeding up the video.  This week I decided to make a Z-Fold card.  This one was a little more elaborate than I had planned but I love how it turned out.  Here is my Stampin’ Up Z-Fold Card video.

Here are some photos so you can see all the details of this card.

Stampin’ Up You’re Inspiring in Watercolor

Hello Everyone ~ an easy watercolor technique is up today with my Stampin’ Up You’re Inspiring in Watercolor.

Today I have a workshop this morning for a make up class.  I also have 2 different sets of workers here to finish up the final things that need to be addressed from the inspections.  This will then take care of all items and we will be set for closing next week.  I have finished all packing  in the upstairs bedrooms.  There was only a little left up there and I had to get more boxes to finish it.  I will be working on a few more design team requirements so they are completed.  I also finished another stamp set on my Catalog Journey which leaves me with 5 sets.  I am hoping to do another set today as well as do some more packing or my closet or the stamp room.  I will also have the girls this evening and tomorrow evening as Jess is going to Texas for a long weekend to visit her best friend.  Kay will have the girls Saturday and Sunday as they are going to the water park with my other sister and her grand kids.  Kay will have a full house with all those kids!  I get the girls back on Sunday evening and will take them to preschool on Monday.  Jess gets back on Monday and will have them after that.  It will be a busy weekend for us!

I ran across another watercolor technique that I decided to use for my card today.  For this technique I added ink from a Crumb Cake pad to the bottom portion an acrylic block ~ I used an E block.  Then I added Garden Green in the middle and ended with Daffodil Delight at the top.  The key to this is to add just a small stripe of each ink as too much ink and you don’t get the nice blending.  After you have the ink on your block, you need to take a spritzer bottle filled with water and generously spritz the block.  You want to see the ink move and some what blend into each other.  Once the ink has moved and basically covered the entire block you want to flip the block upside down to the side of your paper ~ this ensures if the ink drips it does not drip on your card stock.  Then you want to set the block down on top of your Whisper White card stock.  Leave the block there for the ink to transfer to the paper.  You can watch this happen and if need be gently twist/move the block so the color covers the entire card stock.  Do not press hard as you will get dark blotches which does not give you a good look.  Set your paper aside to dry.  When the paper is totally dry, ink your stamp up with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamp it onto the card stock.  I stamped my image so the flower heads were where the Daffodil Delight ink was, the leaves where the Garden Green ink was, and the bottom in the Crumb Cake ink.  This panel was mounted onto a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock.  The Nature’s Twine was wrapped around this panel and tied in a knot.  This panel was added to a panel of Crumb Cake which was then added to a Whisper White card base.  Here is my Stampin’ Up You’re Inspiring in Watercolor card.
