Exclusively Cards

Hello Stampers!

As promised yesterday, here is the information on my Exclusively Cards tutorials.  This month I am featuring Pop of Petals.  This is a bundle until June 4th and then you can get each item separately.  Order now to get the better price!

Do you like making cards using one stamp set and a few other supplies?  That may be why kits appeal to you.  But if you are like me you want just cards not other projects.  My Exclusively Cards tutorials is just the the program you are looking for.  Each month I will take one stamp set and some other supplies to create 4 cards ~ remember it is just cards ~ using the supplies I list.  If this sounds like the perfect program for you, check it out here.  Don’t miss out on these great tutorials!

Daisy Lane Friend

Hello Everyone ~ wait until you see my adorable Daisy Lane Friend card today!

The ball game last night was HOT!  We survived with lots of water but the hot dogs were great.  They are currently first in the Southern Carolina League with 16 wins and 9 losses.  Hopefully they will win tonight!  I am anxious to play with some ideas I have seen or from the craft show this past weekend.  I have a fancy fold card for the Facebook Live on Thursday night that we did at the craft show.  I need to take some time today and get it made as well as some more cards for my blog.  I have some time this morning but this afternoon and evening will be busy with an appointment and our book club meeting.  I got all the bookmarks made for the meeting.  Hopefully there won’t be too many more reply at the last minute!  I will share what I made later this week.

We have our challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments today.  This time we have an inspiration challenge.

The wreath in the upper left hand corner caught my eye immediately.  I knew I had to use it to see what I could come up with.  The Hardwood background stamp would have been perfect but it retired.  That meant I had to come up with something else.  I decided to use the Buffalo Check background stamp ~ you could also use the Birch, Crackle Paint, or All Wired Up  backgrounds also.  I wanted a light ink so I chose to use Sahara Sand and do a second generation stamping.  After I had my panel created I mounted it onto a Seaside Spray card base ~ I am loving the Seaside Spray color!  The Layering Circles dies and Soft Suede card stock were used to cut out the circle frame.  I used the largest and second from the largest.  I added this circle to my card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I then used various dies to cut out my spray.  I began with Early Espresso and Seasonal Layers dies to cut out the twig.  Next I used Mossy Meadow and Frosted Bouquet and Bouquet Bunch to cut out some leaf sprays.  I also used the same dies and Soft Sea Foam to cut out the other sprays.  I added all of these to the left hand side of the circle using glue dots.  The Daisy Lane bundle was used to create my flowers along with Seaside Spray ink on Whisper White card stock.  The completed flowers were added to the left hand side of the circle over top the ends of the leaf sprays using dimensionals.  A rhinestone was added to the center of each flower.  To finish the card, I used the Well Written dies and Seaside Spray card stock to cut out my sentiment.  Here is the completed Daisy Lane Friend creation.

This beautiful Daisy Lane Friend card uses a variety of dies to create the spray. Click the photo to see which dies and colors were used.

Floral Essence Bundle by Stampin’ Up

Hello Everyone ~ a colorful Floral Essence Bundle by Stampin’ Up creation is my share today.

I had a great time this past weekend!  The craft show make-n-takes were very nice this year.  I got several ideas to use for cards for the blog and my Facebook Live.  It also made me think about how to do some of the techniques to see if I can make it work without expensive equipment.  I can’t wait to share them with you.  We also did a lot of shopping.  I picked up just a few things.  We had some great food including Mexican which is one of my favorites and I don’t get very often.  It was a fun weekend with friends.  Tonight we have a make up baseball game to go to.  Looking forward to this as it is hot dog night.  Nothing like a ball park hot dog!

I took some time yesterday to make my card for today. I had done some watercoloring of some large sheets and decided to use one of these for my flowers.  To make my watercolor paper, I used a piece of watercolor paper, my craft mat, and a Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo reinkers.  I added a few drops of Daffodil Delight reinker to the mat.  I then spritzed the drops with water as well as my watercolor paper.  I dragged my watercolor paper through the ink so that it colored the paper.  I let this paper dry.  When it was dry I repeated the process using the Flirty Flamingo reinker.  This gives you layers of color.  This paper was set aside to dry also.  A stamping tool was used to stamp the flower image onto the paper several times.  Since I had used watercolor paper I knew I would need to stamp the image several times to get a dark image.  The punch was then used to punch out the flowers.

Now that I have the pieces for my flower I needed to make my card.  The C.A.S.E.ing the Catty challenge this week was to C.A.S.E. a card on page 151.  I chose the card in the upper right hand corner of the page.

Now that I had my sketch decided, I was ready to assemble my card.  The card base was Basic Black.  I used a panel of Whisper White and added a strip of Perennial Essence designer series paper down the left hand side.  Using the leaf stamp from the set and Old Olive ink I added leaves on the  panel.  A strip of the Black glittered organdy ribbon was added to cover the join.  This panel was attached to the card base.  Using the punched pieces from my watercolor paper I created and glue dots I layered 2 to create a 6 petal flower.  I had a piece of green watercolored paper I had created the same as the flower one so using the leaf punch, I punched out a few leaves.  Glue dots were used to layer the leaves to the flowers also.  The flowers were then added to the card base using dimensionals.  The sentiment was stamped using Flirty Flamingo and then punched using a 1 1/2″ circle punch.  A 1 3/4″ circle punch and Basic Black card stock was used to punch out a circle.  The 2 circles were layered and then added to the card base using dimensionals.  Here is the completed Floral Essence Bundle by Stampin’ Up.

Punches are a great way to use images to create layered flowers. Here is an idea for the Floral Essence bundle by Stampin' Up.

Pop of Petals with Detailed Bands Dies

Hello Stampers ~ I played with a new die and created this Pop of Petals with Detailed Bands Dies.

I knew we would get home late last night so I scheduled this before I left.  I will let you know in tomorrow’s post what goodies I found and how the Make-n-Take was.  We have tickets to the theater this afternoon and  I will be using  some of today to work on cards and videos for the blog this week.  I will have a lot to get done in a short amount of time so I will work on each day and cross it off my list.  I have some more ideas I want to play with so that will be good.

Today’s 10 Minute Creation is a little longer than 10 minutes.  I ran into some issues with it and used the time to offer some hints to make your crafting easier and faster.  I hope you don’t mind.  Here is the video for the Pop of Petals with Detailed Bands Dies creation.

Want to see the card better?  Here is the photo so you can see that Detailed Band better.  These are so pretty and I will be using them a lot more.

Magnolia Blooms in Vellum

Hello Stampers ~ are you curious how I made my Magnolia Blooms in Vellum?

We have a day of shopping planned for today.  We will go back to the show and visit the vendors to see what we want to purchase.  Then we will head to the other mall and check out a few stores there.  We may even stop at the outlets on our way home.  We will get back late but that is okay as we needed this weekend away.  I am hoping I had success at the show.  I will let you know if I got anything or not.

The Magnolia’s are very hot right now.  Everyone has that stamp set and have created some beautiful cards with it.  I did not get the set as I felt the large image was too limiting.  I did however get another set that has a smaller Magnolia bloom in it.  The set is not in the catalog but it is in the online store under Experience Creativity Projects tab.  I am glad they have this set as I will be doing a class using it.  I decided to white emboss the image and then color the back of the image using alcohol markers.  The images were then cut out.  To the Blushing Bride card base I added a section of a retired  silver doily near the bottom using Tear & Tape.  The other section of the doily was added at the top.  The Layering Circles and Whisper White card stock were used to cut out a scalloped circle.  The circle was added to the card base at the upper left hand section using dimensionals.  The cut out magnolias were added on top of the scallop circle using glue dots.  My sentiment came from Butterfly Gala and was stamped using Old Olive ink.  The ends of the banner were flagged.  I used a slightly larger strip of Old Olive card stock and flagged each end.  The 2 strips were attached and then added to the lower right hand corner of the card base using dimensionals.  To finish off the card 3 large rhinestones were added in the upper right hand corner.  Here is the completed Magnolia Blooms in Vellum.

Magnolias on a pink card are so pretty. Check out these Magnolia Blooms in Vellum by clicking the photo.

Daisy Lane Flower Pot Idea

Happy Friday Everyone ~ a cute Daisy Lane Flower Pot Idea is shared today.

Today we are headed to Raleigh.  We are going to do some shopping this afternoon.  There are a couple of malls close to where we are staying so we want to check them out.  We will have a relaxing dinner and then head to the Make-n-Take this evening.  This is a couple of hours as we usually make 8 different ideas.  It is interesting to work with non Stampin’ Up items to do a comparison.  After the Make-n-Take we will go back to the hotel for the night.  On Saturday we will go back to the show to do some shopping.  I am always looking for fun embellishments or tools we do not have.  I also like to find sentiments for the inside of cards.  We do not have many of that type so I look to see what I can find.  I am hoping I can find some new product to play with.

I have my Fast & Fabulous video today.  I decided to play with the Daisy Lane bundle for my creation today.  Today’s card was also a C.A.S.E. of a card from the catalog.  On page 5 next to the Daisy Lane bundle was a card that had a flower pot I wanted to try.

Now that I knew what I was going to do, I was ready to create.  Here is the video showing how I created my Daisy Lane Flower Pot Idea.

Here is the photo of the card so you can see that flower pot better.
