Halloween Bats

Hello Stampers ~ What do you think of Halloween Bats?

Jess’ eye appointment went well yesterday.  She did not have any changes which is good.  After we got home I managed to clean my bathrooms, finish my scrapbook class pages, and finished my cards for my workshop next month.  Today I need to vacuum and work on my collage class for next month.  I also need to make my video for Sunday.  And if I still have time left over, I will work on cards for my blog.  Lots to do so we will see how much I get done.

I wanted to make another Halloween card as the day is fast approaching.  I had some of the Spooky Night dsp so I decided to use strips of it at the top of my card.  I needed a tree for my bats so I pulled out my Sheltering Tree stamp set and stamped it.  I then added some bats from Sweet Home.  To finish off my card I used the Sweet Home set again and stamped the banner and the sentiment inside.  The Sweet Home thinlits were used to cut out the sentiment.  Here is my completed creation.

Vintage Leaves in Blushing Bride

Hello Ladies ~ are you ready for some Vintage Leaves in Blushing Bride?

Well yesterday I spent the day working on my scrapbook class samples.  I really struggled with this one for some reason.  I got half of it finished and the other 2 page spread is almost complete.  I will finish it up today as well as work on my cards for my November workshop.  I have some ideas for those so I just need the time to create.  I also have to take Jess to her eye appointment so I will loose some time waiting for her.  I have a long to do list this week so I need to make good use of my time.  Maybe I will get lucky and get more done than I have planned.

Are you ready for my One Color Wonder today?  I have Vintage Leaves and Blushing Bride.  An unusual color for leaves but I think they turned out very pretty.  At the end of the video I showed you how I made the linen bow that is on my card.  This is not my idea but the demonstrator who uses this all the time did a great explanation.  My version is a little different as it works for me.  Play with the idea and find what works for you.  Here is the video.

Don’t you just love these pink leaves?  I hope you will try some nontraditional colors to see what other colors could be used for leaves.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  What plans do you have for today?  I hope it is something fun!  Have a Wonderful Wednesday and what do you think of my Vintage Leaves in Blushing Bride?

Fall is Here

Hello Stampers ~ Well Fall is Here finally!

I managed to get my video made yesterday.  I have not downloaded it and tried to edit it to see if it works.  Wish me luck as that is my plan for today along with making some cards for posting later this month.

Last night we had our first frost warning of the season.  It got down to between 30 and 40 degrees.  I don’t mind the cool nights when our days are nice like they are going to be.  Time to get some apples for crisp and pies too.  While I am doing some baking I may work on some pumpkin bread!  Anybody got a good recipe for the bread?

Our Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge blog has a new challenge today.   This one is an inspiration challenge.

When I looked at the picture, the first thing I saw was the Black Eyed Susan’s and the leaves.  I knew I wanted to use those for my card today.   I began by creating my Black Eyed Susan’s.  The Daisy Delight bundle is perfect for that.  I stamped the daisy stamp with Crushed Curry onto Crushed Curry card stock.  I did that 6 times – 3 for each daisy.  The daisy punch was used to punch out all the daisies.  Glue dots were used to attach the 3 daisies together staggering the layers.  To make my centers I used a 1/2″, 3/4″, and 1″ circle punches and punched them out of Early Espresso card stock.  Using my paper snips I cut little slits in it all the way around each circle.  The 3 circles were then layered from smallest to largest using glue dots.  The center circles were attached to the layered daisies using a glue dot.  A large rhinestone was added to the center and then using my fingernails I pulled up on each layer of the circles to create some texture and dimension.

Now that my daisies are done time to work on my leaves.  I took  piece of Very Vanilla and sponged on Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie, and Old Olive ink.  I made sure to overlap and blend the inks.  Then using my Versamark ink I strategically stamped the leaves and used Gold embossing powder to emboss them.  The thinlit was used to cut out the embossed leaves.  To form my card, I took a 3/8″ strip of Gold Glimmer paper and added it to the left hand side next to the fold.  A piece of Wood Textures dsp was added right next to the gold strip.  I then added my daisies using dimensionals.  My leaves were tucked under the daisies and attached using glue dots.  My card is complete.  Here is my completed creation.

Put a Spell on You

Happy Monday Everyone ~ This is the time of year for all kinds of spooky things so I Put a Spell on You.

Well I spent the day with Jess again yesterday.  Then she went grocery shopping and we had dinner.  By that time the kids needed to run so she took them outside for a while.  After that they had a bath and watched a movie.  She had a meeting here at the house so she wanted them quiet and settled so she could concentrate on her meeting.  It was crazy but she was able to get it worked out.

It is our Make My Monday challenge today.  We have a Halloween challenge this week.  Since I have only 1 Halloween stamp that is current, I had to think outside the box for this one.  I pulled out my Spooky Nights dsp and did some fussy cutting.  I chose the paper that had the potion bottles on it.  I thought the bottles were appropriate for the challenge.  I cut out a bunch of the bottles and added them to the bottom of a piece of Very Vanilla card stock using glue dots.  I used the dots from Timeless Textures to add some bubbles coming out of the bottles.  The Sweet Home stamp set was used for the bats.  This panel was added to a Basic Black card base.  I used the Sunshine Sayings stamp set to create my sentiment.  I combined 2 different stamps.  After I had my sentiment stamped, I flagged the ends  This was mounted onto a piece of Basic Black and the ends were flagged also.  Another piece of dsp was cut and a piece of Black shimmer ribbon was added.  The dsp was added to a Basic Black card base.  The image layer was added to the card base using dimensionals.  Here is my completed creation.

10 Minute Christmas

Good Morning Stampers ~ are you ready for a 10 Minute Christmas creation today?

Yesterday I spent the day with Jess as my sister kept the girls.  We went to the body shop so she could talk to them about her truck.  It is going to need some work.  After that we went to lunch.  We had a great lunch at a Mexican restaurant.  Then Jess had an appointment with a slaesman to talk some more about a town house.  She has found one she really likes and is investigating the possibility of getting one.  Today we are going back but this time she is taking the realtor she is using.  We will see how things go.

Sunday means it is 10 Minute Creation time.  I decided to create a Christmas card as we are all busy at this time of year so I wanted to show you that you can create your own Christmas cards.  Here is the video I made showing how to make the card.
