Stampin’ Up Blooms and Wishes in Sweet Sugarplum

Hello Everyone ~ my card today uses Stampin’ Up Blooms & Wishes in Sweet Sugarplum.  Ready to check it out?

I had a terrible time with my post yesterday.  I started it Friday evening but no matter what I did I could not get the pictures to go in correctly and not have the words jumbled altogether.  I tried it at least 5 times and each time the words were not where they were supposed to be.  I decided to save the post and close it out and go back to it later.  Well I totally forgot about it and it was not until my sister called me in the morning did I realize I had not gone back to the post and finish it.  I tried fixing it but it still was not working.  I decided to delete the post and start all over.  That worked and my post was finally published.  Not sure what was going on.  Glad I figured it out.

Today I have my 10 Minute Creation.  This one is number 40.  I can’t believe I have been doing this for 40 weeks.  Here is the video for my card.

Here is my card to go with the video.

Daisy Delight in Night of Navy

Hello Everyone ~ I know who I am going to send this Daisy Delight in Night of Navy card to!
Today is going to be a relaxing day for me. I don’t have to go anywhere or do anything! I am going to play in my craft room all day! I have some new ideas I want to try and they needed some time to do them. I have not had the time to spend doing some of the things I have wanted to try. This weekend will be the time I do this. I will even spend some more time organizing my craft supplies. I am looking forward to playing for a change. Then next week I will be back to working on cleaning and organizing the rest of the house.

Yesterday I shared with you how I organized my paper for my move. Today I am going to share how I have my current stamp sets organized. I used the the same Drona boxes and have my stamp sets in there. I have all my annual catalog stamps in 2 of these boxes. For my Occasions catalog and Sale-a-bration items I have them in an Iris Scrapbook Case which holds 12 x 12 paper perfectly.

I ran across a fun challenge and knew it would be perfect for the Daisy punch.  The challenge was on the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.

I began by using some of the striped daisy background paper.  I attached a piece of the 1/4″ double-stitched Daffodil Delight ribbon across the top using Tear & Tape.  This panel was attached to a Whisper White card base.  To add the half circle element, I used the great daisy paper and cut a circle using the Layering Circles framelits.  I used the next larger size to cut a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock.  The 2 circles were layered and then cut the circles in half.  One of the half circles was attached to the middle of the right hand side of the card base matching up the straight side of the half circle to the side of the patterned paper.  To make the daisy, the stamp was stamped 3 times using a second generation stamping using Sahara Sand ink.  The punch was used to punch out the flowers.  I used the bone folder to curl 2 of the flower petals up and 1 of the flower petals down.  The flowers were layered using glue dots making sure to offset the petals on each layer to create a full flower.  Dimensionals were used to attach the flower to the card base in the lower left hand part of the half circle element.  To finish of the flower, I added a clear faceted gem.  A bow was tied using the ribbon and added to the ribbon at the top with glue dots.  Here is my completed Daisy Delight in Night of Navy card.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  I am getting ready to list all my retired stamp sets on the internet so I can sell them.  I am planning on doing a medium flat rate box that is filled and the price includes shipping.  If you have something you want, let me know.  Have a Super Saturday and who would you send the Daisy Delight in Night of Navy?

Swirly Bird Tag

Happy Friday Ladies ~ Today I created a Swirly Bird Tag card that is super cute!

I took yesterday and did something just for me.  I went to the yarn store and spent almost the whole afternoon there.  I needed a break from all the chaos here.  I wanted to make sure all my peeps knew before I announced it here.  I have been busy painting and organizing to put my house on the market.  When it sells I am moving to North Carolina.  It has been a challenge trying to organize my craft supplies so I can continue creating and holding my classes.  Over the next few days I will be sharing some of the organizing things I have been using.

Let’s start with paper ~ if you are planning a move or even a remodeling you may need to empty your craft room.  When faced with that daunting task, you need to have a way to organize your paper.  I began with 9″ x 12″ Office Depot Job Ticket holders.  I got mine from Amazon.

I took one holder for each color and added my opened packs of paper and scraps.  If I had unopened packs I added them behind the holder with that color.

Now that I had all my paper in a holder, I needed a way to organize all my paper.  I had Kallex shelf units from Ikea on my walls.  In the units I had cloth Drona boxes in the openings.  These were perfect for the holders and paper.  I have all my paper ~ all the collections and the In Colors ~ in 3 of these boxes.  I have some colors that have more than one package of paper and I just have them behind the holder.  This has been great as I can move the boxes from room to room as needed.  I have them currently under a table I have in my craft room and can pull them out as needed.  I hope this idea will help any of you that may need to organize your paper.

Are you ready for a Fast & Fabulous idea?  This one was the result when I ran across a tag challenge on one of my challenge blogs and decided I wanted to play with the idea.  Here is my video showing how I created this card.

Here is the photo of the card.

Stampin’ Up’s Layered Leaves Dragonfly

Hello Stampers ~ a simple Stampin Up’s Layered Leaves Dragonfly card for you today.

I had a good day with Remi yesterday.  She got here and wanted breakfast so I fixed her a croissant with carob chips ~ her favorite!  She watched some TV and colored some.  She then wanted lunch and afterwards we went outside and she wanted to swing.  We came back in and I had lunch and then she took a nap.  After her nap we went outside and blew bubbles.  We were outside when her mom came to pick her up.  There were lots of snuggles and hugs all day.  I think she had a fun day!

I saw a clean and simple sketch challenge at Fab Friday challenges

Now that I had my layout I need to choose some colors.  I found some great ones at Just Us Girls challenge blog.
I began by using the Layering Leaves embossing folder on my Crumb Cake card front.  For the berry color, I used the Tutti-Frutti designer series paper (it does not look it in my photo but it is Berry Burst) for the banner.  Just to let you know my Creations of the Month for March uses the Tutti-Frutti dsp so you will want to keep your eye out for it.  The Banner Triple punch was used to flag the end of the strip.  Whisper White baker’s twine was used to tie around the top of the strip.  The strip was added to the card front using Tear & Tape.   To make my dragonfly, I used a piece of the Myths & Magic glimmer paper to cut out the solid image and Basic Black to cut out the outlined image.  Dots of Multipurpose Liquid glue were added to the back of the outlined image and then the 2 were attached.  I added the dragonfly using dimensionals.  Here is my completed Stampin’ Up’s Layered Leaves Dragonfly.

Stampin’ Up Brushstrokes For You

Hello Everyone ~ Well I got that background stamp again and I created the Stampin’ Up Brushstrokes For You card.

I have Remi today.  She has a double ear infection and Jess wanted her to stay home one more day so that she can get her medicine.  She is fine as long as she keeps her medicine in her.  We will spend the day snuggling and having fun.  I will try to do some organizing if I can.  If not I will do a little this evening.  I will also try making some videos for the next few series I have coming up.

Today is my One Color Wonder series.  This week I had Soft Suede and Brushstrokes.  This was an interesting combination as the Brushstrokes is a background stamp so I only had the 1 stamp.  Soft Suede is a brown so I knew it would probably end up being a masculine card.  I wanted to add some interest since the stamp was just stripes.  I thought it would be fun if I could figure out how to do diagonal stripes.  Here is the video showing how I made the diagonal stripes and the rest of the card.

Here is the card from the video.
