Hello Stampers ~ I have been playing again!
I am off to the yarn store today. I am hoping to finish up my shawl I am working on. It is almost completed so maybe I will be lucky. Then later today I will be in my craft room and working on a few other ideas I have. Look for some different ideas coming in the next few days.
Today is Zoie’s birthday! She is 6 today. I don’t know where time has gone as it just seems like she was born yesterday. She is so excited. Jess is going to school to have lunch with her and she is taking some cupcakes in for her class. We will have a family party on Saturday for her and she will have a party for her friends at a later time. Lots of partying going on over the next few weeks!
Today’s card is one of my “playing” days. I had this idea after seeing a card on the internet. It had used 3 circles that were punched out of the card front. I decided to see if I could do a similar idea with the Hexagon embossing folder and the bee from Dragonfly Dreams. I took a piece of Delightful Dijon and using the folder I embossed it. I then thought it would be cute it I could cut it out in a hexagon shape. I was going to look online and find a picture of one when I remembered that Zoie had a pattern blocks set that had a hexagon in it. The one in the set was the perfect size for the black background. I traced it and cut it down to get the size I needed for the Delightful Dijon piece. I attached the 2 pieces with Tear & Tape. Then I used the bee from the Detailed Dragonfly thinlits to cut out 3 bees. After I cut them out, I used my Basic Black marker to color some of the black so it looks like a bee. I added all the pieces to my card front. To finish it off I added some Basic Black baker’s twine. Here is my finished creation.
