Fall Leaves

Good Morning Everyone ~ Are you ready for some Fall Leaves yet?

Wow time is flying by!  Can you believe it is almost the middle of October?  There are only 77 days until Christmas?  It will be here before we know it.  I hope you have started preparing so you will be able to relax and enjoy the time before the special day.

Fall is a favorite time of year for me.  I love the colors on the leaves, the pumpkin pie, the apples, the sweater weather, and the yummy scents you can burn on your stove to scent the house.  In the evenings I often will have a cup of hot apple cider.  This is also the time of year when I pull out my crock pot recipes and soup recipes.  How about your, what do you like about this time of year?

I recently saw a card online of Fall Leaves that I loved and decided to try and recreate using Stampin’ Up supplies.  It used a leaf and stamped a row of leaves across the top of the card in one color, a row of leaves underneath the first row with a different color, and a final row under the other two with a third color.  Then a sentiment was added to a strip of black card stock.  I began by using the leaf from Colorful Seasons.  I stamped the outline first with Cherry Cobbler all the way across the top of the card.  Then using the solid image of the leaf, I used a second generation stamping using the same color to fill in the leaf.  For my second row, I used Pumpkin Pie and repeated the above procedure.  Finally I used Crushed Curry for the last row.  For my sentiment I used the Sunshine Sayings stamp set and created my own sentiment that was stamped with White craft ink and embossed using white.  The sentiment layer was added at the bottom of the card base.  In looking back, I think I need to stamp my leaves closer together side to side and top to bottom.  That would tighten up the leaves a little.  I still like how it turned out.  Here is my completed creation.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  I spent some time yesterday organizing after my crazy week last week.  I still have some more to do today so I will be working on that as well as doing my video for Wednesday as I have a lot of appointments on Tuesday.  Have a Marvelous Monday and will you be creating a Fall Leaves card?
