Hello Stampers ~ I have an unlikely pair in my This Little Piggy and Petal Passion card today.
Well I was able to do all 3 tasks I set out for myself yesterday. I spent some time in the upstairs bedroom and clean out some of the stuff, I took pictures of my stamp sets for sale and sold 1 box, and I played in my craft room. I have an appointment this morning and then I need to go to the grocery store. When I get home I will be working on more of the boxes in the upstairs bedroom and working on more of my stamp sets. If I have time I will work on more cards. I have my video made for tomorrow but need to edit and upload it so I may do that before going into my craft room.
For my card today I had looked at the sketch challenge at Match the Sketch challenge blog.
I made a mistake in ordering and ordered 2 of the This Little Piggy stamp sets. I could have sent it back but opted to keep it and use it for the girls. I had no played with it and when I saw this sketch, I immediately saw the pig with the flower on the long panel. I pulled out the stamp and when I did I saw that it had the sentiment as part of the stamp. That caused me to do something I have never done before. I knew I would never use the stamp with the sentiment at the same time. I pulled out my scissors and cut the sentiment off. Now I can use the stamp or the sentiment and if I do want to use them together, the way I cut it I can put the stamp back together. I will probably do that with the other stamps in the set also. Since I will be using this set to make cards for the girls this is the best way for me to use this set. I inked up the stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and stamped it on my panel. I then used my ink and sponge daubers to color the image. I mounted the panel onto a piece of Blushing Bride card stock. I needed to finish my card so I looked back at the sketch. I wanted to use a piece of designer series paper so I started looking at what I had. The Petal Passion had the perfect piece ~ did you see my Petal Passion class I offered in January? Check it out here. The one that had the scattered flowers on it was the one I chose. I added the panel to the dsp using dimensionals. I took a piece of the Berry Burst Metallic Edged ribbon and wrapped it around the dsp and attached it to the back. The dsp was then attached to the card base. I added some of the Basics Pack 1 washi tape under the ribbon across the panel. I wanted a flower for the star element on the sketch. I pulled out the 1 1/8″ scallop circle punch and punched out a Blushing Bride piece. It did not look like a flower to me so I used my scissors and cut small slits all the way around the punch. I attached the punch to my card base using a glue dot. To finish off the flower I added a rhinestone to the center and fluffed the flower. Here is my completed This Little Piggy and Petal Passion card.
