Hello Stampers ~ are you ready for another Watercolor Background Technique Using Acrylic Blocks card?
Well I did a pretty good job in the upstairs bedroom. I also got some of my items posted to sell. Today I will be working on posting more items as well as I need to start shredding my 3 boxes of paperwork I have to get rid of. I also need to find time to make my video for tomorrow. I have put this one off as it is a real challenge. I have to play around with some layouts to find the one will work. I will work a little at a time and get it done.
I had another background that I made using the reinkers on acrylic blocks. For this one I used Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry, and Tangerine Tango reinkers. You have to be careful not to use too much Cherry Cobbler as it is a bold color and can take over the whole background. This one does not have much yellow in it so I think I also used too much Tangerine Tango also. Something to think about when you choose your colors. After I added my reinker drops, I spritzed the block with water. I then added a piece of watercolor paper to the top of the block and pressed down to make sure all of the paper is colored. Once it is colored, you set it aside to dry. Once it is dry you cut the piece down to fit onto your card base. I used my stamping tool to stamp the images from Jar of Love multiple times. You have to stamp them multiple times as the watercolor paper is textured and does not take the ink well with the first stamping. I really wanted a black image so I stamped each leaf spray 4 or 5 times. I then added my cut sentiment using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The card needed something so I pulled out my white metallic edge ribbon and added a bow on the lower edge. My panel was ready to be added to my Whisper White card base. Question, how many drops of reinker, of any color, do recommend that we use? Thanks, very pretty card front……!
Thanks Carol! I use only a drop or two of dark ones and then 3 or 4 of the other color. I only usually do 2 colors. Hope this helps.
