Petal Palette Bird

Hello Everyone ~ today I have a watercolor pencil Petal Palette Bird creation to share with you.

I did not get anything done yesterday.  I got the house ready for showing and then left to take Bijou to my sister’s.  I got to the hair salon and my stylist was caught in traffic and was going to be late.  I opted to go get a salad and was sitting in my car eating when she pulled in.  My original appointment time was 11:15 and she did not start working on me until 12:30.  By the time I got out I headed down the road.  I had some things to mail so I stopped at the post office and mailed my packages then went to my sister’s to get Bijou.  When I got home I had to go through the house and turn off all the lights.  I was going to work on my clips for my catalogs but I cannot find my paper clips.  I know they are in my craft room somewhere.  I thought I had put them in the box with the catalogs but could not find them.  I will be on the hunt tomorrow for them so I can finish my clips.  If you know where they are, let me know.

Today is the new challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments.  Our challenge this time is a color challenge.

I decided I needed to play with my new toys as they will be available to be ordered at the end of next week.  I chose to use the Petal Palette stamp set as I felt it would work with the colors best.  I began by stamping the leaf spray using Old Olive.  On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped the flower spray twice and the bird using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  I used the Watercolor Pencils to color the flowers and the bird.  Once I had them colored, the coordinating framelits were used to cut them out.  I took the leaf stamped layer and using the Detailed Trio punch, I rounded the corners.  I used a layer of Rich Razzleberry a little larger than the Whisper White layer and rounded the corners of it also.  The corners of a Whisper White card base were also rounded.  The 2 layers were attached and then added to the Whisper White Card using dimensionals.  The bird and flower sprays were added to the Rich Razzleberry layers using dimensionals.  The Rich Razzleberry velvet ribbon was tied to the end of the mini paper clip from the Share What You Love embellishment kit.  The paper clip was added to the upper right hand corner of the Rich Razzleberry layers.  To finish off the Petal Palette Bird creation some basic rhinestones were scattered on the Rich Razzleberry layer.  Here is the completed creation.

  1. Isn’t it amazing how you can change the look of a card by just rounding the corners! I like it and think its fabulous!

  2. I love how you used the Petal Palette set and dies to create a sweet card. The rounded corners, velvet ribbon and rhinestones embellishments make the card so special. Thanks for sharing your creativity at Hand Stamped Sentiments.
