Watercolored Background Idea

Hello Stampers ~ I have a great kid’s card today with a Watercolored Background Idea.

Well I got my studio set up as much as I could.  I have the flooring people coming tomorrow and after they finish I will move the things in the corner where they had to work.  I can then set up the room for my workshop tomorrow.  I also unloaded a couple of boxes that were in my bedroom.  I moved all the bins out of the front bedroom so I can set up the bed for Jess when it gets here.  I also unloaded several boxes from the kitchen.  It was a busy day!  I am pleased with all I got done.  I have also managed to organize a lot of the items for the kitchen.  It is slowly coming together!  Today I will unload and wash some more things for the kitchen and unpack more of my clothes now that I found my other box of hangers.  I am working really hard to have the house ready for Jess and the girls.  I will have another round of items when I get back from Disney as that is when I will have the items from the storage unit brought here.  Most of that is furniture so not much unpacking with it.  It has all my storage units for my craft room so it will be good to get those in the house and up in my craft room.

Today I played with a watercolor panel to create my background for my card.  I began with a piece of Whisper White that I taped down to a board.  Using a paint brush I added water over the lower half of the paper.  I took the Granny Apple Green ink and stamped it onto a stamping block.  Then taking the paint brush I added the green to the water.  I picked up the board and tilted it so that it would run up the sides.  I set this aside to dry.  Using the lion image I stamped just the front of him using Memento Tuxedo Black ink.  He was colored using alcohol markers.  The coordinating die was used to cut him out.  After the green on the background was dry, I took my paint brush and added water on the top half where there was no color.  Using Pineapple Punch ink on a stamping block I used the paint brush to pick up the color and add it to the top part making sure that the two colors met and there was not white space.  This was then set aside to dry.  For my sentiment I stamped it using Crumb Cake onto a piece of Whisper White card stock.  I used one of the framelits from Eastern Medallions to cut out the sentiment.  I then used a circle punch to punch out the shape cutting off the tops of the humps.  This was mounted onto a circle of Granny Apple Green.  Now that my background was dry, I removed it from my board and using the leaf spray from Jar of Love and stamped it using Garden Green.  This panel was added to a Garden Green panel and then added to a Pineapple Punch card base.  The lion and sentiment were both added using dimensionals.  Here is my completed Watercolored Background Idea.
