Stampin’ Up Christmas Feels Like Frost

Hello Stampers ~ How about a Stampin’ Up Christmas Feels Like Frost card idea?

Well I managed to get cards and videos done for the blog through next Tuesday.  I will be working today to get the posts scheduled in case we loose electricity which they are pretty sure will happen.  I also got all my porch furniture in the garage as well as my grill.  The last thing I brought in was my wreath, bird feeders, and flower.  Now there is nothing outside to blow around if the winds are strong.  I am still monitoring the weather but they are saying this storm will not be as bad as last year’s storm.  Today is the last day I can decide if I am staying or leaving.  The weather forecast this morning will be the deciding factor.

I thought today I would use one of the patterns from the Feels Like Frost designer series paper to create a Christmas Card.  Since I don’t have any current Christmas stamp sets I decided to #ShopYourCraftStash and use a retired one.  One of the papers in the Feels Like Frost designer series paper stacks has a silver pattern that looks like pine needles.  I used the Pretty Pines dies to cut out some pine sprigs using Shaded Spruce.  I also cut out an Early Espresso branch and a Cherry Cobbler sprig.  To put my card together I used a strip of the patterned paper and mounted it onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler.  This layered strip was added to the center of the card.  Using glue dots the die cuts were layered and attached to the card front.  To finish off the layered elements a Cherry Cobbler bow was cut out and added on top.  This sprig element was added to the card front on the left hand side.  For my sentiment I wanted one that was stacked and the one in the stamp set was a line.  Using a post-it-note, the last 2 words were masked off and the first word was inked up.  I removed the post-it-note and stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of Whisper White.  I repeated the masking technique to ink up the last 2 words of the sentiment and stamp them below the already stamped first word.  The 1 1/2″ circle punch was used to punch out the sentiment.  A Shaded Spruce circle was punched using the 1 3/4″ circle punch and the 2 circles were layered.  Dimensionals were used to attach the sentiment layers.  Here is my completed Stampin’ Up Christmas Feels Like Frost creation.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  It has been very quiet here the past few days as everyone gets ready for the storm.  They closed the schools so they could be used for shelters.  I know now what they mean be the calm before the storm as trees are still and no birds are flying about.  Have a Great Day and did you like my Stampin’ Up Christmas Feels Like Frost idea?

  1. Hi Robbie,
I really like the simplicity of this card, and the colors. Great card to pass out during the holidays as an act of kindness, not personal but with meaning.
Thank you for sharing and your time.
    Be safe
