Pop of Petals Meets Let It Snow

Hello Everyone ~ Love the color combination on my Pop of Petals Meets Let It Snow creation today!

I begin the long drive home today.  It is 5 – 6 hours and about half way through I start to get tired.  I always stop and take a break so I am alert to finish the drive.  Once I hit the North Carolina visitor’s center ~ which is still closed ~ I am usually pretty good.  I am hoping I am not too tired from the trip to California as it will be long trip home.

We have a great color challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments Papercrafting Challenges blog.

I was curious as to how I was going to work these colors in with my Let It Snow series of card ideas.  Coastal Cabana and Real Red are in the paper so I opted to add Shaded Spruce as an accent color.  When I looked at the designer series paper There was a great striped Coastal Cabana and Real Red pattern.  That is what I chose to use for the paper.  I cut a rectangle and mounted it onto a Shaded Spruce rectangle.  The colors really popped and I loved it.  This rectangle layer was added to the Whisper White card front turn the rectangle at an angle.  Now to make my flowers!  I stamped the large flowers two times using Coastal Cabana and Real Red.  I then used a different flower and stamped it twice using Shaded Spruce to use for my leaves.  The 3 flower cluster was also stamped 3 times in Coastal Cabana and Real Red.  I punched out the large flowers using the coordinating punch.  Then I checked a retired 3 flower punch and found out it coordinated with the 6 petal small flower I had stamped.  I used this punch to punch out all the little flowers.  I love it when a retired punch also works with a current stamp.  I layered my large flowers using glue dots.  The large Shaded Spruce flower was cut apart and the petals were added behind the flowers for the leaves.  These 2 flowers were added in the lower left hand corner using dimensionals.  I took the small flowers and started clustering them in the upper right hand corner using glue dots and dimensionals.  I wanted a sentiment so I went to my trusty set Daisy Lane and stamped the sentiment with Shaded Spruce.  I trimmed the paper into a rectangle and then cut a larger rectangle in Shaded Spruce to layer the two.  The sentiment was added to the card front using dimensionals.  To finish the card I added lots of rhinestones to the center of the flowers.  Here is the completed Pop of Petals Meets Let It Snow.

A striking color combination gives the card a WOW effect. Check out this color combination on the Pop of Petals Meets Let It Snow.

I don’t often use Pop of Petals but check out this idea where I used it to create a poinsettia tag.  This set also makes a great clean and simple idea like this one.  And  how about this striking card that uses watercoloring for the dramatic effect.
