Stamp-a-holics Cards & Things Challenge

Good Morning Ladies!

First part is not stamping related.  If you want to see my card scroll down.

Want to know what I have also had to do in the last few days?  I am having a sunroom added to my house.  I wanted a place to sit and watch my butterflies in the summer and the snow falling in the winter.  I had this great idea to do a faux finish on the walls.  Well last weekend I got an e-mail from my builder saying my walls were ready to faux finish and that when I got it done to let them know and they would come back and add the trim and hardwood floors.  I did not want to hold them up so in between working, teaching my class, making card for my blog, and planning my upcoming workshops I had to work on painting.

Here are the before pictures.

I hope you can see the depth in the faux finish in the second set of pictures.  I really love how they turned out.

Okay, now on to my card.  I made this card for the Stamp-a-holics color challenge.

You have 15 minutes to create your card.  I was over just a little as I kept adding layers as it seemed to need them.

I combined it with the sketch challenge at Cards & Things

I ended up flipping the sketch as I wanted to try a new technique.  I have seen several cards created using the acrylic block that is inked up and then stamped.  I decided to use the pear pizzazz for this color block.  Here is what my final creation looks like.

Hope you enjoyed my card today.  I am hoping to share a new scrapbook project I am working on tomorrow.  If all goes well I will have the beginning of the project tomorrow.  I am up to my daughter’s this weekend so I will be getting some more pics of my cute Zoie to share also.  Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

  1. Your walls turned out beautiful.

    Great card too!

  2. Robbie, your painting of your sunroom looks great. It sounds like you've been swamped with projects. And amongst all those things, you still had time to fit in the Stamp-a-holics' challenge. You did a nice job with your new technique. Thanks for playing along with us this week.

  3. Those walls look great! Must have been a lot of work. Your card is perfect for spring and I really like the acrylic block background that you used. Reminds me of your walls – LOL. Thanks so much for joing the Stamp-A-Holics this week.
