Not sure about this one!

Well I saw something on a blog (sorry can’t find it now) that I wanted to try for our 1 layer challenge.  The lady used Stampin’ Up supplies to create the grunge technique that Tim Holz is famous for.  I read how she did it so I decided to give it a try also.

What Tim does is he applies ink to a craft mat and sprays it with water.  This lady applied ink from the ink pad and sprayed it with water.  You then lay your cardstock in the ink.  This is what I did.  I did this on all 4 sides using Pear Pizzazz ink.  Next you use white acrylic paint and a squeegee to smear it around on the card.  I tried it first with the Frost White shimmer paint.  When it dried  I did not like it as it looked gray.  I pulled out my white acrylic paint and smeared that on using a cardboard credit card you get in the mail.  I still wanted a shimmer look so I mixed some shimmer paint in with the acrylic paint and scraped in over the card.  I then let it dry.  When it dried I felt it needed something else so I pulled out my embossing folder and a wooden picture frame with an oval cut out.  I ran this through my Big Shot and embossed it around the edges.

Next I stamped my image.  It is interesting to use our ink on the paint as it beaded up so I had to use the marker to color it in.  Next I stamped the stem.  It still needed something and since this is a 1 layer card I stamped the sentiment.  Here is my final creation.

close up so you can see the shimmer a little

Since this card is way out of my style, I could really use some feedback.  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think.  Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!
