Hello Everyone ~ I am loving the faux watercolor technique I recently saw. I used it to create some Watercolor Trees.
Yesterday I met a fellow stamper from a group I am in for demos. Maria and I have been chatting about various things about our business and stamping for some time. She lives in Guam but has family here in Maryland. She came in for a month to visit them and she managed to get some time today to meet me for lunch. We had a great time talking business and stamping as well as sharing ideas. Here are the 2 of us at Cheesecake Factory. I am so glad she was able to take some time to meet me.
The Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge this week is an Inspiration challenge.
When I looked at the picture I saw watercolor right away. I decided to see if I had a stamp I could use to do the faux watercolor technique. There is a pine tree in Lovely As a Tree that I wanted to try. I stamped the tree using Garden Green on watercolor paper. I then used my aqua painter to add water to all the branches. When it was dry I used my Early Espresso marker and the writing end to add the trunk lines back in. I also used it for ground. I then used the dot from the Fresh Fruit stamp set to add some Christmas balls.
After I had my main panel completed I went looking for a sketch I could use to finish up my card. I found the perfect one at Sunday Stamps.
I took the main image and added it to a piece of Early Espresso card stock. To make the middle panel I used some of the This Christmas dsp and mounted it onto some Real Red card stock. This was added to a Whisper White card base. Dimensionals were added to the tree layer and then it was added to my card. To finish off the card I stamped the sentiment from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set and stamped it in Real Red. A layer of Real Red card stock was added and then it was added to my card. Here is my completed card.
