My First Christmas Card of the Season

We got a free packet of Christmas paper, stamp set, stamp pad, and glitter at convention. I have been wanting to play with it so I broke it open yesterday to play with.

I presented to my ladies an alternative to our stamp-a-stack this year. Instead of making 40 cards in one day we are going to make 10 cards over 3 different days. That meant I had to start designing my cards now so I am ready for our first class next month. I am thinking of using a form of this card for one of our cards.

I began with the Monday Lunchtime sketch challenge. Mary Jo has a great sketch this week.

I saw the color challenge at Paper Players and when I looked at the paper in the pack from convention it used these colors so I knew I would make a Christmas card.

I created the center panel first. I played with the paper and what cardstock would look best with it. I used the Cherry Cobbler to back the Early Espresso paper as it made it pop. Next I created the arrow element. I started with the Cherry Cobbler paper and after trial and error I found Crumb Cake looked the best. Next I needed the circle element. I used the holly stamp from the set and a second generation stamping. I then colored in only part of the sentiment for the Merry Christmas and stamped it on top of the holly. I then used punches and layered it with Cherry Cobbler. The last piece was the Very Vanilla taffeta ribbon. When I laid my center panel on my card the top was just too bare to me. I used a stamp from Peaceful Season and inked up the swirls and stamped it at the top and bottom. I think when I do this in my stamp-a-stack I will use some snowflakes instead. Here is my creation.

When I was finished I realized my card also fit the Christmas card challenge at Ann’s Creative Nook. I was excited to be able to enter this new challenge I found.

I also have a project class later this month. I have been working on part of the project and thought I would share it with you here. Here is only part of the project.

Here are some more display boards for you.

Hope you enjoyed today’s share. Thanks for looking and have a Fabulous Friday!
