A very productive weekend!

Well I had a productive weekend. I made 3 of my workshop cards for next month and 4 cards to post this week. I haven’t stamped that much in a long time. I am so glad to finally have some energy back.

I am going to share 2 cards with you today. The first one uses a dimension challenge from the Just Add Ink blog. I usually have dimension on my cards so this was an easy one. The next challenge was to use butterflies or dragonflies from the Creative Belli Challenge blog. I had used butterflies last week and hadn’t used dragonflies so I decided to go with those. The last challenge was a sketch challenge from the Diva Coffee Break Designs blog. I hadn’t used the Asian Artistry set in a while so I pulled it out. To make my dragonflies, I did a second generation stamping with Bermuda Bay. I then cleaned my image and did a third generation stamping with Old Olive. I play with my image on scrap paper until I get the color combo I like. I find this technique gives me the blue-green color of dragonflies. After I stamped them I traced over them with a Stardust gelly roll pen in clear to give it some sparkle. I wanted to use some ribbon so I turned the Bermuda Bay polka dot ribbon to the back side so it would be solid. Here is the sketch and my creation.

For my second card I used 2 challenges. I used the KISS (Keep It Simple, Sweetie) challenge at the Pals Paper Arts blog. This challenge was supposed to a clean simple design with lots of white space, minimum time to create, and limited layers and embellishments. I went really simple with this one. I noticed the sketch challenge at the Stamping 411 blog was a simple design so I decided to use this one. The sketch had criss-crossed ribbon which I did but I need to work on my ribbon as it does not lay flat at the bottom and I even used glue dots on the back side to hold them in place. This definitely fits the bill of lots of white space and out of the ordinary for me. Here is sketch and my creation.
