Saturday – Laura’s Challenge

Welcome to the next Challenge issued by Laura’s Loft. The design team and I are excited to be sharing our projects with you today and hope you play along with us.

This month our challenge is a Resist challenge.

Resist is a fun technique.  There are so many ways to do resist.

The rules are easy.  Create a project using the resist technique and then upload it to Laura’s blog the Inlinkz.  There is a giveaway so check out the information below.

Here is my resist project.  I again used the Love Notes set from CAS-ual Friday.  I began by using a Versamark pen and coloring just the heart on the note.  I stamped it onto my white card stock and embossed it with clear embossing powder.  After I had my hearts embossed, I was ready to apply my color.  I first chose Spun Sugar in the Tim Holtz Distress Mini Kit #4.  I used a blending tool and applied the ink randomly to the base.  I them used the Picked Raspberry in the Tim Holtz Distress Mini Kit #1 to add another color to the background.  I used my blending tool to blend the 2 colors and even out the lines.  I then used the sentiment from the set to stamp “Happy Valentine’s Day” and punch the ends.  I added it to my card with dimensionals.  I found a fun ribbon in my stash that matches and added it with a little bow.  To finish my card I punched a heart from a lace doily and added it to the ribbon at the bottom.  I added the layer to my card base.  To finish off the card, I used the musical note and the ink pads and inked up just the heart.  I stamped it at the bottom of the inside layer as well as the envelope.  Here is my finished creation.
