Shaped Cards

Hello Ladies ~ We have some fun shaped cards for you on our hop today.

Where did yesterday go?  I started my day off with a walk.  Then I had breakfast and hit my craft room to set up for a class.  After the class I went over to a customers house as she wanted an idea for Tic Tac holders for her retirement.  She liked my design and place an order.  When I came back I went over to the neighbors to let them know the guy who hit our mailboxes was looking into getting the info to fix them.  I then came home and it was time for dinner.  As I said where did the day go?

When I went to design this I really did not want to do a flower or any other shape that could be easy to use a framelit for – I know I am too much!  So I did some thinking and decided to see if I could create a Sailboat card.  I had originally want to have the card open using the side of the sail.  But the mast prevented the whole sail from being on the fold line.  I had to go back and do some rethinking.  Then it occurred to me I could use the bottom of the boat and have the card fold down rather than fold up.  After I used my template to trace the boat I cut it out.  Then I just needed to add my patterned paper.  I used a marker to color in the mast and a gold marker to do the ball at the top.  Here is my finished creation.

Are you wondering what shape the other ladies used?  Head on over to Joni’s blog – Joni in the Spotlight Stamping to see what shape she used.  I am sure it will be great!

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  I have a busy morning and then a lady is coming to do a class she missed.  Then I will be working on some of the Tic Tac holders I need to make.  Have a Wonderful Wednesday and have you ever created a shaped card?

  1. Great job Robbie – love your idea!

  2. Super idea, Robbie. Such ingenuity. My simple shape today looks pale compared to this. Next time I need to put on my thinking cap. Thanks for the inspiration. This is a really nice card. Hugs.
