It’s the Weekend Ladies ~ how about an Accented Blooms Smell the Flowers creation for you today?
What plans do you have for the weekend? I will be making some videos and studying for my North Carolina Driver’s Test. I have to get my license soon as I only have a month or two to get it once you move here. The office is closed due to the storm so I am hoping it will be open next week. Wish me luck as I have a bunch of signs to study as I may only have to take that test. There is also a written test and I won’t know if I have to take that one until I get to the DMV. I will let you know the progress on this next phase.
The next stamp set on the second round of my Catalog Journey was the This Little Piggy. When I looked at this stamp all I could think of was “Smell the Flowers”. I decided to pair the set with the flowers in the Accented Blooms stamp set. I inked up the flowers and wiped the ink off of the sentiment shape as much as I could. I colored in all the flowers using my markers. Post-it notes were used to mask off the flowers at the bottom using the lines for the sentiment shape as a guide. I stamped one of the pigs from the This Little Piggy stamp set where the sentiment would normally be in the flower image. I then colored the pig. I then extended the flowers on the left hand side and finished coloring them in. I did not have the sentiment I wanted to use so I used the Make a Difference stamp set to create the sentiment I wanted. After I had it printed, I flagged both ends. A piece of Gorgeous Grape was cut a little larger and the sentiment was mounted to it. The ends of this was also flagged. To assemble my card, I took a Grapefruit Grove card base and embossed the front using the Polka Dot Basics embossing folder. The colored image layer was added to a Calypso Coral layer and then added to the card front using dimensionals. The sentiment layer was added strategically using dimensionals over the lower part of the flower image to hide the missing flower parts. Here is the completed Accented Blooms Smell the Flowers creation.
