Across the Waves – Ink thumping roses

Hello everyone – the Across the Waves – Ink thumping roses card shows how to do the technique as it was originally presented many years ago.
Vicky and I have been sharing this fun technique this month. You can see her project here.
Today’s Project
The ink thumping technique is a fun way to add multiple colors to an image. Originally it used a marker on an inked image and tapped it. I have been doing the same idea but using ink cubes. For today’s card, I used the original technique. The key is to use a light color for the main ink and then add thumps with a darker color. I had to try a few different colors before I got the image to look good.

To highlight the thumped image I used my circle stencil and inked up the center with the same pink that was used on the image. The green leaves really show the technique well. I was going to add some sparkly gems in the center of the flowers and totally forgot! Oooops!

This card used a large solid image and thumping with an ink cube. Here is another open flower image that used thumping with a marker.
