An Announcement

Happy Monday Everyone ~ are you ready for an announcement?

Well I got one video made yesterday.  I also cut the kits for my Take Out Trio flip top box class.  It was a productive day.  I have a lady coming for the class today since she will be out of town when I have the other classes.  I then hope to work on some other posts for later in the month.  Since I am going to California in a couple of weeks I need to work ahead.

Today I am joining the creative team at Make My Monday Challenge blog.  They were looking for a few new members for a few months and decided to give it a try.  I was so excited when they chose me to join them for the next 3 months.  I can’t wait to share my designs with their readers.

My first challenge is the one that starts today.  The theme of the challenge is

Fun in the Sun!
When I saw this challenge I did some thinking of what Fun in the Sun meant to me.  To me fun in the sun means spending the day at the beach.  With that I set about creating my card.  I started with stamping a large sun in the upper corner.  I then needed to  create the beach and waves.  To create the waves I used a retired scallop edge thinlit to cut the waves.  I then used the Swirly Scribbles thinlits to cut out some waves and used Island Indigo to ink up the edges so it would show up.  I used my Tombow glue to attach to the wave piece.  I then attached this panel to my card base.  Now I need to make the beach.  I took 2 strips of Crumb Cake and tore the edge.  Then using Chocolate Chip ink and a sponge dauber I inked the torn edges.  The Gorgeous Grunge spots were perfect for adding some depth to the sand.  I attached the 2 strips to the card base.
Now I need to make my beach ball.  I used a tutorial I found online to make my beach ball.  I used a retired heart punch and 2 circle punches – 1″ and 1/4″ – to make the punch art.  I then tucked it behind the first strip and my card is finished.  Here is my completed creation.

Thanks for visiting me today.  Make sure you check out the other projects for the Fun in the Sun challenge at the Make My Monday blog.  I know I can’t wait to see what Fun in the Sun means to the other ladies on the team.  We would love to have you play along with us!  Have a Marvelous Monday!

  1. Hi Robbie,
Todays card is great, it captures the "fun and sun" perfect. This is one of my favorite cards made by you. Thanks for sharing.
