Happy Saturday Everyone ~ I played with an unusual cut for the Angled Watercolor Wings from Stampin’ Up card today.
Did you make it into my Facebook Live last night? We had so much fun! I used one of my Mixed Bag kits and shared how it can be used to make 6+ cards. I made 6 cards on the event and had many pieces left over that could be used for other cards. If you would like to see what Mixed Bags I have available, check out my page here. If you want to see my Facebook Live event from last night, you can find it here.
Today I played with angled cuts for my card. I love different angled layers to create interest. For this one I used a double cut to create a banner. I began with my Soft Sky card stock that was 4″ x 5 1/4″. Using a ruler I marked one of the 4″ sides at 2″. Then on the same end I measured up 2″ on each of the 5 1/4″ sides. I placed the paper in my trimmer and had the middle mark and one of the side marks in the cutting track. I cut off the corner. I repeated the procedure on the other side to cut off the other corner. This gave me the banner shape. I took that piece of card stock and using the Fluttering embossing folder and embossed it. This piece was added to an Island Indigo card base using Tear & Tape. Using a piece of scrap paper stamp the largest butterfly from Watercolor Wings using Soft Sky for the solid layer, Tangerine Tango for the outside edges, and Island Indigo for the accent areas. Once it is stamped, use the coordinating Bold Butterfly Thinlits to cut out the butterfly. Attach the butterfly to the bottom of the banner using dimensionals. Use the sentiment from Awesomely Artistic to stamp the sentiment along the edge of the right hand side of the banner. To finish off the card, add some Metallic Enamel Shapes. Here is the completed Angled Watercolor Wings from Stampin’ Up.
