Well I was a busy little bee this weekend. I actually got 3 swaps totally finished and ready to go, I have the paper cut for another card front but I need to stamp it, all the pieces for another card stamped and cut just need to cut out the main image and put it together, and part of the pieces cut for a third card. I have tried to plan out my cards as I am placing an order this weekend and I want to make sure I don’t forget anything.
The card front I am sharing today is the one that I have all the paper cut and images stamped so I just need to cut out the main image. I was inspired by a card that Andrea Walford made. I love how she used the swirls to accent her image so I decided to use them on mine. I also liked her use of linen thread and since I have some I decided to add it to my card. I used the sketch challenge at Creative Apple Scrampers . This is a new challenge blog for me. I just found it this weekend. Don’t know how I could have missed this one.
I used quite a few new items on this card. I used the new square lattice embossing folder (current mini), Friends Never Fade stamp set, as well as some new color cardstock and ink and the new Greenhouse Gala ds paper. I inked my flower up with Daffodil Delight. I then colored the center with my Pumpkin Pie marker. I also went around the edge of the stamp with the marker so it was a modified rock – n – roll technique (when you have 28 to do you look for ways to get the same effect in an easier way). I did not include a sentiment as I thought it would be lost on the ds paper. Here is the sketch and my creation.
So what do you think of this swap? I am trying to do a variety of styles. Would you swap with me? Thanks for looking and have a Marvelous Monday!
