Happy April Fool’s Day to you! Hopefully our weather will begin to act more like the beautiful Springs we can have here in Southern Maryland.
Today’s card is a twist that Susan from Card Sketch A Day designed. Our task was to design the front of the card to look like an envelope. I have to say this really stumped me. I thought about this for WEEKS and finally when I was under the gun to get the card completed and uploaded to the site an idea hit me.
I thought since the front of the card need to look like an envelope that the inside of the card could be designed to look like the front of a card. I liked that idea so I went with it in designing my card. To create the front envelope design I took an envelope that was sent to me and used it as my template to make the pieces for my design. Here is my creation.
inside of card
Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, sentiment (inside – Garden Greetings, front – Great Greetings: retired) Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Brocade Blue, Very Vanilla, DCWV stack Ink: Close to Cocoa, Bravo Burgundy Accessories: Creamy Caramel marker, Eyelet border – Designer Label – 1 1/4 ” and 1″ circle punches, ribbon (gingham – Pink Hedgehog, blue grosgrain – Ribbons and Bows Oh My), sticky tape, dimensionals
I hope you were not fooled too much today. Thanks for looking and have a Wonderful Wednesday!
Robbie

That’s quite interesting when you put an envelope into an envelope. I’m not sure I like that idea. I did like the inside. That rose is so pretty. Sandy
