Beautiful Day for a C.A.S.E. the Catty

Happy Monday Stampers ~ I used the white wash technique for my Beautiful Day for a C.A.S.E. the Catty creation.

Well I accomplished almost all my goals yesterday.  I managed to get all the boards I had cut for my drawers.  I have 4 glued and nailed the boards in so they are finished and back in the cabinet.  I have 4 more drawers with the boards glued in and I will nail them in and put them back in the cabinet and they are done.  I have 4 more drawers to do but I need to get more boards to finish them.  I will work on them sometime next week.  I also made the last 2 cards for my class tomorrow, as well as 3 videos and a card for this week.  Today I have water aerobics this morning and may spend a little time in the pool after class.  Then I will work on some more cards for this week as well as play with some ideas I want to try.

One of the groups I am in on Facebook is the C.A.S.E. the Catty Challenge group.  This week they are C.A.S.E.ing the Love, Thanks, and Support section on pages 72 – 97.  I looked in the catalog and ran across a card that was perfect for the technique I had started.  The card I am C.A.S.E.ing is on page 79 in the lower left hand corner of the picture.

I had wanted to play with the white wash technique so Saturday I chose a couple of sets and heat embossed them using white craft ink and Whisper White embossing powder.  I then used the white watercolor pencil and colored in the sections.  Yesterday I took the Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, and Granny Apple Green pencil and colored in the butterfly like the photo in the catalog.  I then cut it out.  To make my card like the catalog, I took a Whisper White card base and a piece of Melon Mambo card that I had torn the bottom edge.  This was attached to the center of the card base.  Using the retired Polka Dot embossing folder I embossed a piece of Daffodil Delight.  This was added using Tear & Tape.  A pearlized doily was glued to the Daffodil layer.  I then added the butterfly with dimensionals.  To finish my card I white embossed a sentiment and flagged the ends before adding to the center of the butterfly using glue dots.  Here is my completed Beautiful Day for a C.A.S.E. the Catty creation.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  I have my card class tomorrow so I have to prepare for that as well as finish up the drawers so I can put some of my stuff away.  It will be good to be able to find some of my supplies that I haven’t been able to locate.  Have a Marvelous Monday and did you like my white wash technique on the Beautiful Day for a C.A.S.E. the Catty creation?
