Beautiful Day from Stampin’ Up

Good Morning Everyone ~ today I used Beautiful Day from Stampin’ Up for my creation.

Well I met with the real estate agent last night.  We are putting the house on the market this weekend.  I still have some things to finish up but mainly it is moving my packed bins upstairs to the closet.  I moved a lot yesterday and had to quit as I was exhausted.  I am so going to enjoy my vacation next week.  Between now and the time I leave I have to get my cards created and my videos recorded and uploaded.  I will be busy this weekend!  I also have to get my Facebook card designed and posted.  So much to do and so little time!

After I met with the real estate agent I had to get my card made.  I didn’t have a lot of time so I went for a simple layout.  I had the bright idea to emboss the image and then use the marker and blender pen and ink in the lid to color it in.  I wasn’t thrilled with how it turned out so I decided to use my aqua painter and blend the ink a little more.  It did blend it a little more but still not sure about it.  You will have to leave me a comment and let me know what you think.  Here is the procedure I used.  I stamped and embossed the image.  Then using my Sweet Sugarplum marker I colored the petal from the center to about the middle of the petal.  Then I took my blender pen and using the ink in the lid I colored the petal from the outside edge to the center of the petal making sure to blend the two.  After I had colored all the petals, I was not happy with the look so I grabbed my aqua painter and a little container of water and used the water to color all the leaves.  I used the brush and water to blend the ink a little more.  While it looks better it is not what I think it should look like.  I think it would have been better to use watercolor paper but that is hard to stamp on and emboss.  After I had my image colored I set it aside to dry.  I embossed a panel using the sequin embossing folder.  This folder was added to the Sweet Sugarplum card base using Tear & Tape.  The colored flower was added to a Wild Wasabi panel a little larger than the image panel.  This panel was added to the card base using dimensionals.  To finish off my Beautiful Day from Stampin’ Up creation I used some of the retired Sweet Sugarplum glimmer ribbon and tied a bow.  Here is my completed creation.
