Buffalo Check Fall from Stampin’ Up

Good Morning Stampers ~ I used my favorite set again to make my Buffalo Check Fall from Stampin’ Up creation.

Well I did not loose electricity during the storm.  The wind blew and a few small trees came down but I was glad the electricity held up.  Further south of me they lost electricity for several hours.  I think the main part of the storm went further west of us which I am glad about.  When I took Bijou out last night the wind was really blowing.  She was enjoying it as she loves the wind.  I was afraid she would be blown away.  It is a good thing I take her out on a leash as I can keep a strong hold on her.  Today I am going to Mum Fest.  We are going this morning.  I am excited as this is my first one.  Barb has told me about them so I am anxious to experience it first hand.  It will be great to see all the sites and check out the booths.

I have another Fall card for you today.  This one was actually inspired by a piece of 12 x 12 designer series paper I saw online.  I saw the paper and thought it would be fun to recreate it using Stampin’ Up supplies.  I began by stamping the Buffalo Check background stamp with Pumpkin Pie.  I then used the Cherry Cobbler marker to add the fat lines on the check pattern.  To add a little more interest I used the Garden Green marker to draw in the skinny lines.  Once I had all my lines drawn, I used some of the linen thread to add 3 wraps of the thread.  This panel was then attached to the Garden Green card base.  I used the limb from the Seasonal Layers thinlits and cut it out and added it to the card base.  This was my stick.  Now to make my marshmallows.  I cut the Whisper White to the size I wanted.  Then using the Detailed Trio punch, I rounded the corners of the paper.  To get the toasted look, I used crumb cake to sponge on ink on the edges.  To get the rounded top look I took a scrap of card stock and an oval punch and punched out the oval.  I then pushed the ink from the template to the white card stock.  I used this method on both ends.  Once my marshmallows were done to my liking, I added them to the card base using glue dots.  Here is my completed Buffalo Check Fall from Stampin’ Up.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  I have a busy week coming up as I will need to write all my posts  for the weekend since I will be out of town.  I will work on it a little at a time and get it done.  Have a Super Saturday and what did you think of the marshmallows on my Buffalo Check Fall from Stampin’ Up creation?
