Butternut Sage’s Cupcake Challenge

Good Morning Stampers!

It is supposed to be a beautiful day today!  I will work a little this morning and then I will cut paper for my workshop on Saturday and set up the stations.  I hope to play a little in my stamp room also.

Donna at Butternut Sage Designs has a challenge every 2 weeks.  The current challenge is to make a card using a cupcake on it.  This was a challenge for me as I have no current cupcake images.  I was not going to let that stop me so I pulled out my punches and created my own cupcake.

I began with the sketch challenge at Red Hot Stampers Sketch Challenge Blog

This was a simple sketch and I thought it would be perfect for this challenge.  I began by running a piece of Daffodil through my crimper.  I then cut it in the shape of a cupcake paper.  I then pulled out my scalloped circle punches.  I punched each size out of white.  I then used the extra wide oval to shape the top of the large bottom piece.  I used the same procedure with the second and third layers but used the large oval.  When I had all my layers made I sponged the edges with Early Espresso and then using a 2 Way Glue Pen I added some Dazzling Diamonds.  Here is my creation.
