Good Morning ~ color blocking is a fun technique and here is my version on my Color Blocking Hello Card.
Yesterday was a crazy day for me. I totally forgot I had to make this card so I dropped everything and made my card for today. Then I went back to working on prepping for my mini album class this week. Once I had one kit completed I decided to cut some of the paper I need for the Christmas project I am working on. I will either finish cutting the paper tonight or tomorrow. I do need to make my video for tomorrow’s card and I need to cut one more kit for Wednesday evening. No rest for the weary!
Today is the challenge at Hand Stamped Sentiments . This week we have a color challenge.
I have to admit I had not idea what to do with these colors. They were all over the place to me. I decided to try a technique called color blocking. I knew I would need to use Lemon Lime Twist for one of the color blocks. They I just played with the other colors and came up with the Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral color blocks also. I was left with Daffodil Delight and remembered the Daisy Delight bundle. I was then ready to make my card. I checked out my designer series paper and the Lemon Lime Twist was in the Eastern Palace dsp. So I cut a piece of that and mounted it on a little larger piece of the same color card stock. I did not have any dsp with Bermuda Bay in it so I thought I would emboss that strip using the Layered Leaves embossing folder. That left the Calypso Coral which I had in the Delightful Daisy dsp which was also mounted on a matching piece of card stock. I then added each strip to a Basic Black card base. I stamped my daisy onto Daffodil Delight card stock and use the punch to punch it out. I used a bone folder to curl the petals on each piece and then layered using a glue dot. The sentiment was stamped using Bermuda Bay ink and then punched out using a 1″ circle punch. A 1 1/4″ circle punch was used with Bermuda Bay card stock and then layered to create my sentiment. The sentiment was attached to the lower right hand corner. Using dimensionals attach the daisy in the lower right hand corner. To finish the daisy, add a clear faceted gem in the center. Here is my completed Color Blocking Hello Card.
