Color Challenge First Frost

Hello Everyone ~ a monochromatic Color Challenge First Frost will be shared with you today.

Well I got the directions for my Kids Kits done and my cards for tonight’s Facebook Live completed.  I even worked on my next Inspiration in the mail class a little.  I was surprised I got as much completed as I did.  I also spent some time working on the paper masks I need for the cards I am sending out to our Masketeers!  Today I may not get to play much as I have to clean my bathroom ~ didn’t I just do that yesterday? ~ and prepare for my Facebook Live.  I am waiting for some USPS packages to come it so I can go to the post office and mail stuff out.  I hope it comes today.

I have to tell you this funny story.  Yesterday afternoon Remi Facetimed me.  When I answer she said “Hi Gigi Cow’s it going?”.  I sent her a card with the Cow on it and that was the sentiment from the set I used also.  She thought it was so funny!  She is a mess.  I can’t wait to see her and give her lots of hugs and snuggles!

I am in a Facebook Group and they have challenges each week.  Last week the challenge was a color challenge.  You had to create a monochromatic card.  I went looking at my colors and opted to use Blushing Bride and Lovely Lipstick.  For my stamp set I used the First Frost set and Frosted Bouquet dies.  I began by stamping the roses using Lovely Lipstick.  The coordinating dies were used to cut them out.  I also cut out the berry branch and leaf branch using vellum.  To my Whisper White card base I added a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Lovely Lipstick.  Taking a piece of 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″ piece of Blushing Bride I stamped one of the branches from the set using Blushing Bride ink.  This panel was then added on top of the Lovely Lipstick panel on the card front.  Taking the roses I used glue dots to attach the vellum pieces to the back.  The flowers were then added to the lower left hand corner of the colored panels on the card front using glue dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Here is the completed Color Challenge First Frost creation.

Monochromatic color combos are a great way to create a card when you need some color inspiration. Look at this Color Challenge First Frost idea. Details are on the blog.

The First Frost stamp set is retiring this year.  Make sure you order yours soon so you don’t miss out.  Here is another idea for a clean and simple card using the same image.  This is another idea for a Real Red card that uses layers for interest.  This idea uses designer series paper and dry embossing for a great card.

Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you.  It is supposed to rain most of the morning so it won’t be hard to do the tasks I need to do.  I hope you have some time to be creative today.  Have a Great Day and what colors would you use to create your version of my Color Challenge First Frost creation.
