Yeah, it’s Color Challenge Monday! Candice and I really love picking colors. I think we need to challenge outselves and work outside the box. What do you think of us picking colors for the other person. It could present some interesting cards.
For today’s colors I was to use Summer Sun and pick some other colors. When I started planning this I saw a card that had used a wheel to create a design down the left hand side of the card. I took it a step further and decided to use the wheel on a piece of cardstock to create the look of a ribbon down the side. From there I determine where to put the image and then by looking at the sketch I knew it needed a ribbon across the bottom. I had this ribbon that I wanted to layer on top of a satin or grosgrain but even with all the ribbon I have I did not have a color to match Summer Sun (those of you who have seen my craft room with all my ribbon boxes will find that hard to believe). So I decided to use a thin strip of cardstock and attach my ribbon to that. Here is what I came up with.

Stamps: Friendship Blooms, One of a kind Paper: Lavendar Lace, Rose Red, Summer Sun, Wild Wasabi, white Ink: Basic Black, Summer Sun, Wild Wasabi Accessories: Forever Flowers wheel, wheel handle, ribbon (actually knitting yarn, they have some cool yarn that makes great fiber ribbon for cards – I got it at Michael’s), sticky tape, dimensionals
So Candice, are you up for the challenge of picking each other’s colors? Thanks for looking and have a great day!
