Coloring Down the Lines – Sweater Weather

Good Morning Stampers!

Wow did we get some rain!  It was really coming down.  I am not sure how long it will rain today.  Then they are watching the weather to see what the tropical storm will do as it is supposed to come up the coast.  I know a lot of areas are under flooding watches and warnings.

Today is the Coloring Down the Lines blog hop.  This week our colors were chosen by me.

I loved these colors when I saw it.  I am contemplating some new ventures and I decided to do something out of the ordinary.  I thought it would be fun to try a scrapbook page.  I looked for a couple of challenges and found one I could use for these colors at The Paper Girls Challenge Blog.  Here is their challenge.

#87 – Sweater Weather
With the Fall Equinox just around the corner we know that the weather is changing, and that typically means cooler temperatures, crispy leaves, pumpkins, sweaters and other cozy, spicy goodies. So, what inspires you about the changing weather?

When I saw this challenge the title made me think of warm, cozy sweaters.  When I think of sweaters I also think of plaid so I decided to use our colors to make some plaid and add in some leaves.  I cut my paper for a 4″ x 6″ and three 3″ x 4″ photos.  I then pulled out my inks and the stripes stencil to make my plaid.  Then I stamped a bunch of leaves.  I placed my card stock mats and then determined where my leaves should go.  I then glued everything down.  My picture is not that great and I tried taking in several times.  I need to do some experimenting with larger objects.  Anyone have any insight into how to take great pictures of scrapbook pages?  Pass them my way.  I may need to try photographing them from above.  Here is my page for the challenge.

  1. Very interesting idea…love the leaves and the colors! We also have rain – if one wants to call if that – for our area, it does more mess than actual rain – makes the dust and pollens on our cars turn to dirt….UGH! We are still having hot and cooler weather – wish this weather would settle down to FALL and get over the hot days! Hoping that you do NOT get any flooding and just rain…we all need it sooo badly! Stay safe and take good care!

  2. This is a wonderful interpretation of the Sweater Weather challenge! I love hearing that it inspired you with the prints. Taking photos of scrapbook pages is pretty challenging. I actually put my pages on the floor by a window and stand on a stool to take pictures…or I have them sitting on my craft desk and I stand on my chair (not all that safe, tho). Thank you for playing along with the Paper Girls!

  3. Great interpretation for Sweater Weather! I just love plaid. Thanks for joining us at the PaperGirls, and don't forget to come back and play along with the "Food" challenge on now!
