Colour Create Potluck Friday

I had another idea with the rose from Fifth Avenue Floral. I thought it would be interesting to see what it would look like if I embossed it in gold and did the layer like I did on my other one.

I began by stamping several roses with Versamark Ink and embossing with gold embossing powder. I the cut the roses out in various layers. Before I assembled the roses I used a sponge dauber and Bravo Burgundy ink to sponge the edges for some depth. I chose my colors for the challenge on the Colour Create blog. This week we were to use red and green. I didn’t want to do a Christmas card since that is what we think of when we say red and green so I thought it would be fun to do the rose. Stamp TV has a Potluck Friday Challenge. The challenge varies and can deal with anything. This week the challenge was to use another tool beside the Nestabilities. I have the Creative Memories cutting system so I pulled out the hexagon and went with it. I used the largest shape they had and then used my layering tool to add the red and green layer in the same shape. To do the leaves on the background, I inked the stamp up with Garden Green and did a second generation stamping so they would be lighter.I had planned on using a sketch challenge to assemble the card, but in my excitement to finish the card I used my own layout. Oh well, I guess I will just have to create another card using the sketch. I have run my mouth enough. Here is my creation.

inside of card

Stamps: Fifth Avenue Floral, Best Blossoms (retired), Notable Notes (inside rose – retired) Paper: Garden Green, red, white, Patterns Pack PP Ink: Garden Green, Real Red, VersaMark
Accessories: Garden Green – Real Red markers, gold embossing powder, ribbon (Pink Hedgehog), Creative Memories cutting system hexagon, sticky tape, dimensionals
I am going to have to get some different gold embossing powder as this one is a dull gold and I think it would look better with a bright gold. I am also going to have to try this technique with some of the other stamps in this set. I have new stamps that have just arrived so I need to go play. Thanks for looking and have a great day!
