Cute Valentine Card

Well did you survive the cold weather this weekend? I hope you were able to stay warm and stamp a little. I started pulling some goodies for my blog candy. I will take the picture later today and post it so be looking for it.

Today’s card is very cute (IMO). I began with the image from the Diva Coffee Break Designs blog. I than started thinking about the sketch and pulling it apart to to see what I could come up with. I thought the panel on the bottom would be good to put a saying in. Then I just needed to choose my stamp sets for the other panels and I was set. I wanted to use the daisy looking flower in Fifth Avenue Floral so I decided to use a red, black, and white color scheme. I stamped the verse in black and layered it with red and black. I then stamped the flower in red on the image panel, cut it out, and filled in the center dots with gold gel pen. I also stamped the image in black on the red to pop on the top. I stamped the heart pile from Loads of Love and punched them out. I wanted the middle circle to stand out a little so I used the gold gel pen and traced over the hearts. Punched out a black circle to layer the hearts on. When I put the panels on the card it still needed something, so I stamped open dots in black for the background. I added ribbon in black and white polka dots and my card was done. Here is the sketch and my creation.
