DIY Condolence Card
Hello Everyone – this type of card is not one we like to make but I think you will agree the DIY Condolence Card is a very elegant card.
The Very Versailles stamp set is so versatile and makes an elegant card.
I don’t have many of these cards in my stash so I thought I would add one with this idea. This stamp set has nice images that lend itself to all kinds of greeting cards. I chose to use Evening Evergreen as then the card could be used for a man or a lady. Paired with Very Vanilla this color combo is very tasteful.
I created a focal element on the left hand side at the top and tied the image together with a leaf stamp in the lower right hand corner. The linen thread was wrapped around and then the panel was added to the card base.
The medallion is one of the images I don’t use very often. On this card it works perfectly as the background for the sentiment. The sentiment was stamped and the ends flagged. To make sure the sentiment stood out on the panel the edges were sponged with ink. Dimensionals were used to add this element to the card front. To finish the DIY Condolence Card, a multiloop bow was added.

background layer: Very Vanilla 4″ x 5 1/4″
image Layer: Very Vanilla 2 1/8″ x 2 3/8″
layer for image: Evening Evergreen 2 1/4″ x 2 1/2″
Sentiment layer: Very Vanilla 5/8″ x 2 1/2″
I carried the collage idea to the inside of the card and on the envelope to tie everything together.
Here are some ideas for thinking of you cards. This one uses a frame, some leaves, and a small flower punch. Here is a masculine idea that uses feathers for the focal element.
