Dry Embossing meets Glossy Card Stock creates a fabulous card

Hello Stampers ~ today my dry embossing meets glossy card stock for a cool underwater scene.

I finally finished up some samples for my Learn Something New class next week.  Now I have to decide which cards we will do in the class.  There are so many ideas I played with that it is hard to decide.  I will have to make a decision as I need to send out the e-mail about the class tomorrow.  Speaking of e-mails, are you getting my newsletters?  I just sent out one today that had some great ideas in it.  Make sure you fill out the form to the right so you can get my monthly newsletter.

I am playing along with C.A.S.E.ing the Catty Facebook group today.  This week we were to C.A.S.E. a project from the Everyday Occasions section, pages 18-67, of the 2017-2108 Annual Catalogue.   There are some great samples in there.  I chose this one to C.A.S.E.

First thing I had to do was find a stamp set as I did not have this one.  I looked through the section and found the Seaside Shore stamp set that I had.  In looking at the original card there was a background layer that was embossed.  I have the Seaside embossing folder also so that would take care of the background.  So I was now ready for my dry embossing meets glossy card stock creation.  I wanted to create a water background and I decided to play with some glossy card stock.  I used Bermuda Bay, Island Indigo, and Pool Party and sponged it on my glossy card stock.  I then spritzed it with water and let it dry. The result was perfect.  I used the stamp set and stamped some seaweed.  I used the heat tool to dry the ink so it would not smear.  I repeated the process for the fish.  I also used the Crushed Curry marker to color the fish and used the heat tool to dry it also.  Now I was ready to put my card together.  I added the embossed layer to the Pool Party card base using lots of strips of dimensionals.  I wanted to make sure the background did not collapse.  I used a scrap of Night of Navy that had a scallop edge and attached to the card base.  I stamped the rope from the set twice using Crumb Cake on Very Vanilla card stock and cut it out.  I attached these to the Night of Navy strip using glue dots.  The fish layer was added on top using Tear & Tape.  To finish off the card I stamped and cut out the anchor and added it with mini dimensionals.  Here is my completed creation.
