Faux Plaid Technique

I am planning for my technique class next week and thought it would be fun to use the faux plaid technique on some leaves.  I tried it first with the Paisley Prints set but did not like the look so I pulled out the Autumn Splendor set and love how they turned out.

I used the color challenge from The Paper Players.  You were to use

Old Olive, More Mustard, Cajun Craze, and Early Espresso

I thought I would use the More Mustard as the base and then add the stripes using Old Olive and Cajun Craze.  When I did this it just did not work.  So I decided to use More Mustard as the base and make the stripes with Cajun Craze and Early Espresso.  In doing this technique, I did realize that if the stripes are closer together it looks better.  I really liked the way it turned out let me know what you think.  Here is my creation.

So do you want to come to my class next week?  Just let me know and I will gladly add you to the list.  Hope you enjoyed my creation today.  Thanks for looking and have a great day!
