Hello Everyone ~ a colorful Floral Essence Bundle by Stampin’ Up creation is my share today.
I had a great time this past weekend! The craft show make-n-takes were very nice this year. I got several ideas to use for cards for the blog and my Facebook Live. It also made me think about how to do some of the techniques to see if I can make it work without expensive equipment. I can’t wait to share them with you. We also did a lot of shopping. I picked up just a few things. We had some great food including Mexican which is one of my favorites and I don’t get very often. It was a fun weekend with friends. Tonight we have a make up baseball game to go to. Looking forward to this as it is hot dog night. Nothing like a ball park hot dog!
I took some time yesterday to make my card for today. I had done some watercoloring of some large sheets and decided to use one of these for my flowers. To make my watercolor paper, I used a piece of watercolor paper, my craft mat, and a Daffodil Delight and Flirty Flamingo reinkers. I added a few drops of Daffodil Delight reinker to the mat. I then spritzed the drops with water as well as my watercolor paper. I dragged my watercolor paper through the ink so that it colored the paper. I let this paper dry. When it was dry I repeated the process using the Flirty Flamingo reinker. This gives you layers of color. This paper was set aside to dry also. A stamping tool was used to stamp the flower image onto the paper several times. Since I had used watercolor paper I knew I would need to stamp the image several times to get a dark image. The punch was then used to punch out the flowers.
Now that I have the pieces for my flower I needed to make my card. The C.A.S.E.ing the Catty challenge this week was to C.A.S.E. a card on page 151. I chose the card in the upper right hand corner of the page.
Now that I had my sketch decided, I was ready to assemble my card. The card base was Basic Black. I used a panel of Whisper White and added a strip of Perennial Essence designer series paper down the left hand side. Using the leaf stamp from the set and Old Olive ink I added leaves on the panel. A strip of the Black glittered organdy ribbon was added to cover the join. This panel was attached to the card base. Using the punched pieces from my watercolor paper I created and glue dots I layered 2 to create a 6 petal flower. I had a piece of green watercolored paper I had created the same as the flower one so using the leaf punch, I punched out a few leaves. Glue dots were used to layer the leaves to the flowers also. The flowers were then added to the card base using dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped using Flirty Flamingo and then punched using a 1 1/2″ circle punch. A 1 3/4″ circle punch and Basic Black card stock was used to punch out a circle. The 2 circles were layered and then added to the card base using dimensionals.
