Hello Stampers ~ My Garden Lane Designer Series Paper Idea 3 is on the blog today.
Well we went to the Fossil Museum yesterday and then went to the area to dig for fossils and shark’s teeth. We found a lot of fossilized coral and Zoie found quite a few shark’s teeth. No real big ones but they were happy to have some. After that we came home and had lunch and then went to the pool for a few hours. We were all tired so I am hoping they sleep through the night again. Today the weather is supposed to be hot so we may do the pool in the morning and a movie in the afternoon. Or maybe we will do the aquarium in the afternoon at least they won’t fall asleep in the aquarium. I will see what tomorrow brings.
I have the next idea in my Garden Lane Designer Series Paper Week. This is number 3 using this paper. If you did not see the first one, here is where you will find my Stampin’ Up Garden Lane Designer Series Paper Week first post. Today’s card uses 2 patterned papers and I curved join. I used the designer series paper and the curved die from the In the Woods dies. I cut both pieces at the same time so my pieces lined up. Use the linen thread to wrap around the top patterned paper piece. Attach this piece to the top of the card front and the other pattern to the bottom of the card front. You can easily use the other pieces to make a second card. I then used the curved die to cut a curve in a strip of Garden Green that was 5 1/4″ long. After you make the first cut you will have some card stock on each end that is not cut as the curve is only about 5″ long. Move the die down to so the top of the die is even with the bottom embossed part of the die. Make the next cut. This will give you a curved piece that is joined at each end. Cut each end so you have the curved piece. Attach the curved piece to your card front over top of the join of the two patterned papers. Stamp your sentiment on a scrap of Whisper White. Use the size of the Layering Ovals that the sentiment fits inside of to cut out the sentiment. Use the leaves from the Perennial Birthday stamp set and stamp them at the top and bottom of the oval. Use a scrap of Garden Green and the scallop circle die that is larger than the sentiment layer and cut out the oval. Layer the 2 ovals. Add to the card front using dimensionals. Use the linen thread to make a multi-loop bow. Here is the completed Garden Lane Designer Series Paper Idea 3.
