Hello Everyone ~ I am sharing a Handmade Advent Calendar Idea today.
I was a little surprised when I saw on Facebook that there was a forecast for a blizzard for us this weekend. One radio station says 17″ and the local TV station says flurries. It will be interesting to see how this one plays out. One thing that many of the local weather people do not consider is the temperature of the Chesapeake Bay. The temperature of the Bay water controls our Snow. I checked the temperature and it may be cold enough for us to get flurries but I don’t think it will snow. Time will tell! I would love to for us to get some snow as my philosophy is “if it is cold it needs to snow!” How do you feel about snow.
I saw a great Advent Calendar idea on a Facebook Group I am in. I wanted to make one for each of the girls so I purchased the tutorial. It took me a little longer to make them since I was making 2 but I got them completed. I had to use some retired Christmas paper since the ones I had from this year I have used most of them up and did not have any 12 x 12 sheets but one pattern. This is a large book style holder that I made using chipboard. Inside were 24 little boxes that also had to be made. That meant I had 48 of those little boxes!
The first one was for Zoie. I used a retired dsp for the background and combined it with the Merry Music dsp. The letters are Silver Glimmer paper. The Santa is a retired set from a few years ago! Here is her book.
Here is the inside of her box.
Here is Remi’s book. I used the Merry Music dsp and combined it with the Be Merry dsp. Here letters are also cut out of Silver Glimmer paper using the Large Letters framelits. I used the same Santa for her cover.
Here is the inside of her box.
Sorry for the small pictures today. My program would not cooperate so I ended up with smaller pictures.
Thanks for visiting me today and I hope I inspired you. I have to get some cards made for my blog later this week today and I have a workshop later this afternoon. Have a Terrific Tuesday and if you have made a Handmade Advent Calendar Idea make sure you share it with me!
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow…… I would be happy.
Love these advent boxes for the girls. Wish I had young ones to make one for. Or, let Louie fill it with JEWELRY! Yeah, that’s an idea!
