Handmade Christmas Card Design

Happy Sunday Everyone – a pink and green handmade Christmas card design is the card for today!

I love using a soft pink and soft green together. It has been a color combo I have used from way back when I started stamping.

I have been enjoying using my poinsettia dies on my cards lately. I decided to use them for my card today. I paired it with the Whimsy and Wonder pattern paper for an elegant pink and green Christmas card.

Poinsettias are the flower of Christmas. Usually you see red ones everywhere but my favorite is the white with a pink center. I used that idea to choose the colors for my card today. The Whimsy and Wonder pattern paper has a beautiful soft green – Mint Macaron – with a soft pink – Blushing Bride – that would highlight my poinsettia perfectly.

I chose my papers and wanted to add some sparkle so I pulled out some of the retired Be Dazzled paper as an accent. I cut my poinsettias out of white and used the embossing dies to add the veins of the petals. I used my sponge dauber and added some color in the center of each flower. The flowers were layered with dimensionals and rhinestones were used for the center to add some more sparkle.

All I had to do was assemble my card. The layout was the challenge at Tuesday Morning Sketches. I did rotate the sketch to fit my paper and flower. I love how this sketch made it easy to create the handmade Christmas card design.

Here are the measurements from my card so you can use them when you make yours.

Measurements

Card Base:  White 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
background pattern layer:  Mint Macaron diamond pattern 4″ x 4 1/4″
sparkle side panel:  Be Dazzling paper 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ 2 pieces
strip background panel:  Blushing Bride 1 1/2″ x 4 3/4″
strip pattern paper:  Holly pattern paper 1 3/8″ x 4 5/8″

To carry my theme to the inside of the card and envelope, I used the smallest flower.
