Happy Saturday!
It is very cold here. We are under and Arctic blast this weekend and we are not supposed to get above freezing. My heat pump has been running constantly. Don’t want to think what my electric bill will be next month!
I played a little in my craft room yesterday. I had hoped to make several cards, but got a phone call and I have more people coming to my workshop today that I needed to cut for. I did get this card done. Gretchen has a weekend sketch challenge on her blog Inspiration in Action. I decided to use her sketch on my card. I decided to try a new technique to challenge myself. I wanted to try making a scallop around a circle image. I have seen this done before and had a vague idea of how it was done. I knew it used a strip of paper that you use a scallop edge punch on. You then run the strip through the crimper. I had this all done but couldn’t get it to work out so I called my friend Candice and she said the strip needed to be thin. I cut the strip down and it worked. You use mono to attach the strip to your circle working your way around. I don’t think I do too bad for my first try. I had some of the crimped strip left so I used it down the side of my card rather than adding a scalloped edge. Here is the sketch and my creation.

I got a new camera before my vacation at Christmas. I am still playing with it so let me know what you think of my pictures. I am playing with the settings until I find one that works. Thanks for looking and have a Super Saturday!

Robbie this is way too pretty. I love the colors, the layout and how it all came together. I loved the scallop and will have to try the crimping. I will have to copy only with different colors since I don't have those colors. Sandy
Hi Robbie — great job with that little ruffle technique. And I love that you carried it over to the edge and had some crimping there as well. Thanks so much for playing along with the challenge! I hope to see more of your work soon! Blessings, Gretchen at Inspiration in Action — http://www.gretchenbarron.typepad.com
So pretty! Thanks for the explanation of the ruffle on your card, would never have thought that was how it was done! I'll have to try it out some day. Thanks so much again for taking the time to explain how you made such a lovely ruffle.
