How to color a rubber stamp

Hello Everyone – do you have some details images and wonder how to color a rubber stamp? Read on to see what I did.

I signed up for a Retreat this weekend and I am having a great time making projects and learning new techniques/skills. It is so nice to make cards and not have to come up with the design for a change. This is a Christmas Retreat so the projects are all Christmas related.

This week I am focusing on another Sale-a-bration product. The Summer Shadows dies is free with a $100 order.

It coordinates with the Shaded Summer stamp set in the annual catalog.

These dies are so fun to play with. I love how they coordinate with the images in the stamp set but also have some other flower dies to add to your cards.

The images in the stamp set have some beautiful flower sprays. The problem is to ink these up with your ink pad means the image will be one color and you may want your leaves to be green and your flowers to be yellow. To do that you will need another way to color your image.

With that problem I have the solution. Pull out your markers and you are set to add color to your detailed images. Using the side of your marker you can color individual sections of your stamp. For my card I colored the leaves a green and the flowers 2 different colors. That is how to color a rubber stamp to get the multi colored image on today’s card.

Coloring a detailed image can be a challenge unless you want it all the same color. See how to color a rubber stamp to create a card like this.

I use this technique quite often with my detailed stamps. Here is an idea that uses a line image that you would probably color in but I colored the stamp instead. This card is not a line image but another one that is great for coloring with markers.

Have you colored your images using markers? Leave me a comment and let me know if you like the technique or not. I use this technique quite often. Just remember to use the side of your marker and not your tip so you don’t ruin it. Have a Sensational Sunday!
