I love black eyed susan’s! I seem to use them a lot this time of year. I had fun creating the large and small flowers with the punches.
I began with selecting my color challenge. I decided to use the colors from the Color Throwdown blog. You were to use dark brown (Chocolate Chip), Kraft, Old Olive, dark yellow (Summer Sun). When I saw those colors I just knew I needed to make black eyed susan’s. Next I went looking for a sketch that would lend itself to what I had in mind. I found a great sketch Makeesha Byl’s blog Inkspirations. I then set about creating my black eyed susan’s. For the large one I used the scallop circle punch. The small ones were created with the boho blossoms punch.
To make the background I used a stamp from Asian Artistry. I used a marker to ink up only the stems. I then went searching for a sunflower stamp. I do not have a stamp that is technically a sunflower, so I used the small flower stamp from Razzle Dazzle and used repeated stamping to get a full bloom. Hope you like my card! Here is the sketch and my creation.
